Kings Trying To Trade JJ Hickson?

I don't think I'd consider it a major bust trade, considering that we gave up Casspi to get him. If not for the first round pick that was included, it would be pretty much a wash.

I am calling it a bust precisely because of the pick included in the trade! JJ for Omri is a wash!

Thats true, but in this case, I don't think its rocket science to figure out that the Kings would love to get something back on their investment. If not for the first round pick we threw in, I wouldn't be that upset about the trade. Casspi hasn't lit the world on fire either. But the Kings haven't tried to extend him, and I doubt they'll pick up his option, so the handwriting is on the wall.

I was only pointing out that rumors attributed to Marc Stein are a long way from being carved on stone tablets. Positing that the Kings might be trying to move Hickson is about as original as predicting hot weather for Sacramento in August.

:)

What about a Hickson for Beasley trade?

Minnesota could save some $$, Kings get Beasley (though I would be wary of a guy with his reputation)

OR

JJ and Salmons for Beasley and Ridnour?

Or

Salmons for BMiller and Beasley (Kings get two knuckleheads, but less years of Salmons...)

I wouldn't touch Beasley with Bricklayers hands.

Sure, but his contract is up at the end of the year. Assuming the offer was on the table, would you trade Salmons for him straight up, in order to get out from under 2 more years on Salmons' contract?

I would... I would take BMiller, too (I think his contract is over this year). Just trade for them and waive them goodbye. I guess the real issue for the Kings would be what is the upside? They can amnesty Salmons this summer. They would need some $$ or a pick or something.

Salmons for Beas and Miller would be a no brainer, but I don't see why minni does that deal.

If NOH gets desperate, why not offer Hickson for Kaman? .. try and resign him and have him come off the bench next season. Our bench clearly needs an identity and scoring punch.

Now we're talking.

Trading away a contract is always better than amnestying it, because under amnesty you still have to pay the money. It just doesn't count against your salary cap.

So, the plan is as follows:

Salmons to Minn for Beasley and BMiller (Beasley waived, maybe Miller, too)

JJ + Cisco to NOH for Kaman.

I like the Kaman idea. He was an all star like 2 years ago.

So, Hickson + Salmons for Kaman? Would NOH want the Kings to give more or take more back? After the Chris Paul/Lakers debacle, I doubt teams are in a hurry to attempt a trade with them.

Good trade for both teams (I write that in case any NO front office read this).

Seriously... the NBA should mandate that get done if we offer it... they need to help us out after we ponied up and got the arena deal done. A little thank you gesture for the franchise!

What's weird is how the Kings at no point this season have been connected to the Kaman talks... they must not like the guy for some reason.

Hassan

it is obvious that seeing how HASSAN CHOP fits in with cuz and others today is a clear sign of one of the bigs moving. I dont see chuckster, probably thompson or hickson

i dont think we've been mentioned because i think NO's asking price is gonna be way too high just like it was on CP3. i highly doubt they give up a guy with all star talent for hickson and whatever other garbage we players we have lying around. Some may say its better to get SOMETHING in a trade as opposed to letting him walk in free agency, but i dont think NO has any intention of taking on guys with salaries like garcia or salmons for future seasons. They want young players and draft picks, not long bloated contracts. While JJ is a young guy with potential, i think its obvious that the guy doesnt have that much potential. why would a rebuilding team take on JJ and one of our s*** sf's? makes little sense IMO.

JJ has proved nothing this year and i doubt he has much value around the league at all. My guess, we either trade him for a second round pick, or hes still in a kings uni after the deadline

you know I completely detest Channing Frye as the biggest wuss in the entire league, but I don't completely detest your idea given our team

Bricklayer wanting a big who averaged more 3pt attempts than rebounds last season?

...These are desperate times indeed.

Next week... the 14th or 15th or something...

Its the 15th...and I think we should call San Antonio and offer JJ/Jimmer for Jefferson/Neal, as per a suggestion from a friend. I think that would be a decent trade that fills needs for both teams. We need a small forward upgrade desperately.
