Sort of like the "ask the person below" thread in the lounge, I wanted to start a questionaire thread on kings trivia. One person asks a question and the next post has the answer along with a new question.

Here, I'll start it off(with an easy one):
Where did mike bibby go to college?

Gary st. gean.

Who are the only teams we've faced in the playoffs under adelman?

Mavericks, Lakers, Seattle, Utah, Timberwolves, Phoenix

which sacramento king was named mvp of the nba all star game?

Who were the four draftees when the Kings had four first round picks?

Lionel Simmons (LaSalle); Travis Mays (Texas); Duane Causwell (Temple); and Anthony Bonner (St. Louis).

Who did the Kings select in the 2nd Round of that same draft (1990)? Who ironically had a much longer career than any of the four first round picks.

i don't think sacramento had a 2nd round draft pick in 1990...

I only remember four rookies from that team. It wasn't Vinnie Del Negro was it? I thought he was drafted the year before.

Was that the year they took Bimbo Coles and traded him on draft night?

I'm claiming victory if it was Vinnie or Bimbo. If it was somebody else, then the actual victor can ask a question. Otherwise here you go:

Who was the starting PG in the 97-98 season, the year before Jason Williams was drafted?

follow up bonus.

What center was drafted that same year at #26?

Ellison, Vlade

Who was the second player the Kings acquired along with Danny Ainge in the Ed Pinckney/Joe Kleine to Boston trade.

Brad Lohaus?

If I'm right, I still have a question that's gone unanswered up above.

We have a winner. :)

Oh, and Anthony Johnson. How that happened I have no idea whatsoever.

Yes, it was Bimbo Coles.

Yeah. Brick gets the prize as the first one to buzz in with the correct answer.

I guess I'll add the next question:

Which former Kings won the Most Improved Player award? (Neither won the award while playing in Sacramento)

Hmm...got one, but am having trouble with #2. Will leave it for somebody else unless it comes to me.

Hey, no fair. You only named one. I wonder if Brick has the same one, or if (like me) the other guy was the one he thought of first.

As for the Cuttino question, I think he's said he got the nickname playing sports as a kid because he was so quick.

*Edit* I did a little digging around and I found an article written after the Orlando trade that said it was related to Dr. Seuss books. But I also found an interview where Mobley himself said that his football coach gave him the moniker.

No, Pervis was the guy I came up with too.

Who were the 2 main combatants in the Nov. 10, 1995 Kings/Pacers brawl?

Why on Earth would you know that Garagmel? Because I certainly have forgotten. You have a weird brain. ;)

I'm good at remembering useless info. It's a real benefit to my daily life. Good fight, btw. Sixteen suspensions. I'd like to know what sparked it if anyone recalls.

Michael Smith was involved. Antonio Davis?

If I remember right it was just a chippy game. I'm pretty sure The Animal escalated things after fighting for a rebound.

Not as many suspensions, but I still liked the Corliss-Michelin Man (Coleman) fight from a few years back better.

BTW, just for a sense of closure, the other former King to be named Most Improved Player was Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf who won it with Denver. I believe it was the same season he changed his name from Chris Jackson.

...Side note: Cat's nickname comes from his favorite book as a child, "The Cat in the Hat"...

Abdul Rauf is the other to win the most improved player of the year award. I think that he and Pervis won those in back to back years. OK, here's a Kings question that I was given with a lot of money riding on it on a trivia game show:

In the 2000 playoffs, the Kings and Lakers played in the first round. In Game 4, a King and a Laker each got a technical foul underneath one of the baskets for going at each other.
1. Name the Laker
2. Name the King
3. Name the instigator of the incident
4. What quarter did it happen in?
