Kings-Thunder game discussion for Oct. 10

No fancy intro, just the thead for those who want to discuss the game.

:p

I was going to write up something about the Thunder coming to Arco, home of ARCO THUNDER, but I think I'll save that for my PBP.

Anyways, should be a nice game to watch tonight, specially since it's at home. Anybody know the Thunder's(...wow...lame) starting 5 yet?
 
While the Thunder's starting lineup hasn't been publicly released, we do know Beno won't be playing tonight. Brad, Quincy and Kevin should be in the lineup, however. Will be interesting to see whether Bobby J or Bobby B gets the nod to start at the 1.

It would be nice to give the start to BJax so he can get the applause from the crowd (even though the article in the Bee indicated he did not want to start).

I almost posted asking where the game thread was too but I figured I was just blind from being sick.

I'm looking forward to seeing the home jerseys and this game will be in HD. :D

AusKing ... They don't announce the starting lineup until about 30 minutes before game time. During the pre-season it really doesn't mean much since both teams will be trying to assess their players for the future and not just this game.

Thanks VF, I don't really know these details having never been to an NBA game - hopefully one day! :) Looking forward to your PBP.

I was more curious whether Brown gets a start...
 
My guess would be that Bobby Brown will, in fact, start for the simple reasons that 1) Bobby Jackson doesn't want to; and 2) This is the perfect opportunity for Reggie to experiment a bit and see what Brown can do in that situation. With Udrih having the reputation of being injury-prone, it's best to know these things as early as possible.

Is it the case that ONLY the home games on CSN will be in HD and all the road games in regular def?

What about News10? Anybody know?
 
i know i shouldn't hate the thunder themselves but man...i do hate their ownership for hijacking the team.

go kings, give them a smackdown!

Home games = HD. News 10 = HD. Road games carried by CSN = non-HD.

At least that's the way I understand it.

He took quite a beating from Joel Pryzbilla in the first game. According to this morning's paper, his "sprained left hip became a left hamstring strain." I don't think it's anything significant...more like the phantom injuries that used to occasionally put players on the "injured" list so other players could be activated.

At least News10 has 9 road games this year (of 15, if I counted right) so that would make 50 HD vs. 32 standard in the regular season.

I hope (for next year) they clear up rights, or whatever other reason they don't run HD road games on CSN, because I'm convinced that standard definition through my HD receiver is WAY worse than standard def on an "old school" TV.
 
Oops. News 10 road games may or may not be HD. I can ask around for you, but I'm not at all sure I could get a straight answer.

Well, I guess we'll find out. I would think if you can't get a straight answer, there may not be one!
 
Just going off memory here.. you can view News10 road games on the News10 HD channel (910 for me) but it may be that crappy HD where they just compress the screen or whatever.

The last time I had the flu was when the Kings were playing against the Raptors years back. The only memory I had of that game the next day was Vlade dunking on somebody. But I recorded that game though which made it even worse cause I always had to get off the couch to use the VCR.

I saw it again eventually. It was worth it. Lol.

The only energy I could muster up yesterday was to hit the "on" button on my clock radio. I had it on 1320am all day but I can't even tell you what I was listening to.
 
wow what a complete contrast from the portland game in terms of attendance and atmosphere
