[Game] Kings @ Thunder - 4/24/12

Oh please. You wanted the freaking loss, you're getting the freaking loss. Please do not belittle how hard the Kings have tried tonight.

Look at Cousins' face. He has no reason whatsofreakingever to be embarrassed. If you are, too bad.

...
We're also neglecting to mention that we're missing three of our better players (albeit they all play the same position)

All told, that shot by Cook is trouble for OKC. The biggest problem OKC has is closing out opponents. A better, savvier move would have been to run clock off. If that shot rims out, Kings have two possessions and can tie the game. It's the same scoring urge for the Thunder that led to the game 5 collapse against Dallas last year.

Better to run clock and force the foul than hoist a long distance shot and allow the opponent a window to win.

Dear Grant and Jerry,
Please just shut up about IT for one minute. It's all I ask.

What can they possibly be saying? He hasn't played well in a loss to OKC's bench for the most part, nor can he guard any of OKC's PG's. Been hidden all night.

The only guy on the Kings I'm mad at is Travis freakin' Outlaw. If he'd played like this all season we wouldn't be a lottery team. WTH Travis? :(

He's played 45 minutes and has run the team, going to get strong consideration for ROY, etc., etc.

It never ends.

You know,a Cuz/Davis/JT rotation with some spot D minutes for Hayes and Whiteside would be pretty awesome/

As much as we bash Outlaw, he is only 3 seasons removed from being a 13 PPG scorer on a playoff team. The guy can score, but he has just been terrible this year.

Travis Outlaw played occasionally decent defense tonight, hit a few shots, but forced far too many shots. If he had been patient and not tried a half-dozen isolation plays (really, Travis?) he might have had a good game. As it is, he scored a lot and tried to make himself the focus after a hot-ish start.

That goes back to knowing your role, which I don't think has been made clear to anyone on this team. One of the criticisms I have in all this. Our guys' roles change from game to game. One game you're a defensive role player, next you're the focus of the offense. And we wonder why there's no consistency.

he was also terrible last year. He might just be washed up now. I rather have him then salmons though b/c he is barely making any money and is younger.

Travis Outlaw's breakout game is too early for next season. LOL

In other news, NOH should demolish the Warriors later and move us few more percentage closer to Anthony Davis.

That's my point though. I thought we overpaid, but I wasn't mad when we claimed him because I remember him being a pretty good player off the bench for Portland and we needed a SF. There's no excuse for how terrible he played this season. Even with the forced shots tonight he still finished with a respectable shooting percentage. Check out what his percentage for the season is and try not to throw up.

Remember, he started the season off with a broken shooting hand. If he can get healthy he might actually be a pretty addition.

You know, that's a good point. I actually had forgotten about that. It's going to take a long time to wash the stink off from this season, but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. He'll get to be a part of a real training camp next season, all of these players will. Perhaps he still has a place on this team as a backup SF. Not to mention, we need his $3 million a season to help us make the minimum salary threshold. ;)

While losing to the Thunder bench may be a tad embarrassing, the fact that they outplayed the Thunder starters the entire game is at least a positive. Honestly, the only reason the OKC bench pulled this game out was because one guy got enormously hot. It happens. Also, the boneheaded fouls on three point shooters didn't help. I swear I've never seen a team make that same mistake more than this current squad. Garcia, for one, should never be allowed to guard the perimeter again.

Btw, too bad Outlaw couldn't play like this all season. It actually looked like we had a legit SF tonight.

3 million a year is not "barely making money"

compared to salmons it is

Travis outlaw is makign 7 mil per year, which is about a million less than Salmons. We stupidly bid 3 million (minimum was 1.3) for his services, which he will provide for us for 3 years after this at 3 million per year.

So he is costing us 3 million in salary and cap, while he is costing the Nets 4 mil per year and none on the cap.

Petrie probably thinks he got a bargain... say it with me guys, Travis Outlaw for 3 more years!

I have actually moved into my bedroom to watch the rest of the game (big thanks for laptops and wireless routers) where the TV is smaller and much easier to replace. The ability of Cisco to irritate me has now reached epic proportions. In fact, seeing him step onto the court causes an immediate rise in blood pressure.

No more dialup?

You know what, he had 20 pts, shooting just under 50% from the floor. He also had 7 rebounds, 4 steal, and 2 blocked shots. He just had his best game of the year, and a game that any player in the league would be proud of, and yet, you want to criticize him. Are some of you so loaded with negative crap that you can't just acknowledge a player when he has a good game.

I love the way you said, "he might have had a good game". Just what the hell do you call a good game? And by the way, I'm not an Outlaw fan. But I can damm well give kudo's to someone when he does something right for a change.

Not that its unusual on this team, but if you remember, Outlaw was played at the PF position quite a bit as well, instead of his more natural SF position. There's no doubt he stunk this year. And the stench was so bad that the 3 mil looked like more than 3 mil. But it wasn't that long ago that there were threads in the personnel thread about trading to aquire Outlaw at Portland. Bottom line is, I doubt we'll eat his contract, so unless we trade him, or include him in a larger trade, he's ours for the next few years. If thats the case, it would certainly be beneficial if he could be productive.

Clearly every shot he took should have been passed to Evans instead.

Look at the bright side! We just found our SF of the future....:D

Why does it seem like every season we have key rotation players under perform so badly that we lose all hope, and then right at the end they turn it on just enough to make you think twice about kicking them to the curb? When will this madness cease??!! :D

It takes a while for a person to adjust is the simplest answer. I kind of wonder how much we screwed up by getting rid of JJ.
