Kings-Suns PBP for Oct 23

Hello again, fellow Kings fans!

Last night's game was a hoot; I don't think the Suns will be quite as easy to manhandle, even without Amare.

I personally am really starting to like the way the team looks. And, even more, I'm liking how they're still flying under the radar.

Tonight's game is being played in Fresno...but still a "home" game for the Kings.

I have my beverage of choice, my snack, and my favorite Kings blankey! I don't break out the famous purple slippers until the season starts.

I'm ready for another interesting game...

Tank Thompson and Gary Gelfand from Ch. 31 doing the House Party Live. Koz is doing the radio broadcast, which means Gary Gerould must be doing a racing call...

They actually talk to Koz, though, so it's pretty much same-old, same-old.



Lots of Kings fans in the background and... one guy in a Lakers shirt, who says he had to be there to represent?????

...sigh...

Some Laker fans really don't have a clue, do they?

Garcia has a nickname...It's Cisco.

He'll know he's really arrived big time when they play "The Cisco Kid" over the PA at Arco.

Kenny Thomas does the team greeting tonight. Short and to the point. "Thanks for coming out and supporting us." Poor Kenny. He really didn't look like public speaking is something he puts high on his list of things he likes to do...

Grant says again that we probably won't see much of Bibby, Peja or Brad tonight.

Lights go down. In the dark, it sounds just like Arco - well, Arco with a lot less people.



Uh oh... they're doing the pre-game little circle dance and it appears Sandrin has two left feet.

Jerry must not have gotten the memo - he's still calling them the Royal Court Dancers. Grant subtly corrects him by referring to them as the Sacramento Kings Dance Team THREE times in a row...

Bibby to KT, who doesn't see open Peja, passes to Martin who creates a shot for two.

Miller hands off to Peja, who pulls up and shoots. Misses but gets the foul call.

Nice ball work. Miller bounce pass inside to cutting Martin, who is fouled. Non-shooting.

Peja makes a three, unfortunately at the 25th second. Doesn't count...

James travels; Kings ball.

Bibby to Peja, who takes a lot of time off the clock before passing the ball out in the direction of KT and Bibby. Mike has to put up a shot that misses. Suns ball.

Bell for two.

Suns shot blocked; still Suns. Martin with the steal. Out to Peja in the corner, who airballs three attempt.

Suns ball.

Brad steal.

Kings ball.

Nash dances around Mike like Bibby's feet are nailed to the floor and puts up the floater for two more.

Observation: Peja seems to be a lot more involved than in the early pre-season. Nice to see. The game strategy for tonight as far as Nash goes appears to be to run him all around the court on every single possesssion. Maybe they're thinking his batteries will run down???
