in '04, shaq looked at parker and just went "we gotta lay the wood on him."

dammit, can't brad miller just do that?
Maybe Artest should take looks on him. Parker was handled in 04 more by cutting him off at the free throw line before he got to Shaq. That takes effort by the guards and SF.

Bruce Bowen just showed a lot of class in the post-game interview with Koz.

Even he commented that Nazr was way out of line in shooting that three. I would honestly not be surprised to see Pop take some kind of action against him.

I will give credit again. Pop had his team out and ready to play. Bowen made a good point, however. "We didn't do anything yet. A team in the playoffs is supposed to win on their home court."

They must have forgotten the time they lost to the Jazz by 30 in their first Kings playoffs game.
And they bounced back and were seconsd from advancing. Let's see if this group can even make it interesting

Artest simply isn't quick enough.

Yes, Bowen was really classy. Pretty much wouldn't expect anything else from a Spur. It wouldn't be tolerated.

I had 16 different people call me during halftime to laugh in my face. I never expected us to win the series, though i would love knocking off SA, but losing this bad was sickening to the point of vomiting.

16 people called to ridicule your team and laugh at your discomfort? Great friends you have there.

Brad, 27 minutes, 1 rebounds, 2 steals, 4 points! Why did he even suit up for this game? This is unacceptable production from a starting center.
At least he didn't expend too much energy in this game. He is waiting for game two.

LOL I am that guy when the 49ers lose :) Especially when it's to the cowboys. Brings to memories when I would get in heated arguements with friends when they called because I could dish it out but not take it.

VF you said something that kind of peaked my curiosity. Now I know that the coach doesn't shoot, make shots, play defense but this question must be asked. You said that POP had his team ready to play. Does that mean in a sense RA didn't have the Kings ready? Not blaming RA just want to hear your take on it.

Something I have not gotten with this team is that they are so inconsistant. When they lose they play like a last place team that's never played together before. When they win they look like a top seeded team. There is very little middle ground with this team. I think its the fact that this group has only really been togther for a few months. Not sure but its the oddest thing I have seen in any team in a long time.

I bet next game we put on the good team face and at least play a close game. We don't stand a chance if we continue to let the Spurs shoot like this.

I'm not quite confident yet to call an upset in this series (our recent FT% slump sticks out in my mind), but I have a strong feeling the Kings will win game 1, possibly in blowout fashion, as the Spurs have shown a tendency to come out flat in 1st round games to start.
sigh...well, I got the "blowout" part of that prediciton right.:(

There is NO conceivable way you can put this at the feet of Rick Adelman. If anything, you blame Geoff Petrie who built this team. Look at the depth of the Spurs and then look at the bench of the Kings. There is NO comparison. None whatsoever.
Well, our team wasn't very prepared if anything. Sorry, you lay some of that directly at the feet of the coach.

For one thing, Pop has had the same team for a while. That makes a huge difference. Those are playoff tested veterans.

Rick, on the other hand, has a team still trying to find their identity. SAR, Kevin and Cisco had never stepped onto a court for a post-season game before.

Popovich is a much stricter coach than Adelman. Not sure his style would work with our particular group of black sheep but it certainly works for the Spurs. His team has worked all year towards the playoffs and defending their championship. They are ready because, primarily, they knew they would have to be.

The Kings didn't even dream of the playoffs until Artest arrived. Even then, it seemed like a pipe dream.

I honestly commend the coaching staff and the players for coming as far as they have in such a short time. The team has totally revamped its style and tone and yet still managed to find a win to win games. That's a lot bigger than most are willing to acknowledge.

Does that answer your question at all?

Luckily I didn't get to watch the game as I had baseball all day with the kids. I did just notice that Brad scored 4 points with 1 stinking rebound in 29 minutes. Beno Udrih had 2 boards in only 9 minutes .

But that still doesn't change the fact that you said that Pop had his team ready to go, and you never place any of the blame on Adelman when we play poorly.

You don't have to be talking to me for me to comment on you, that's what makes public message boards so great.

i think some of the blame goes to adelman, but ultimately we got punked by the defending champs, BADLY, on their home floor. sure, adelman could've done certain things differently during the game, but would it really have changed the outcome?

we were simply outmatched in this game, talent-wise. no coach could've salvaged the situation.
