Has there been a Kings team that has had this much contrast from stretch to stretch? We have looked like a good team 3 different times this season and hot garbage for large runs between.

i don’t remember 3 different great stretches. I remember the 14-7 run, then again I wasn’t as engaged early last season

Saw the last 5 minutes or so of gameplay, and wow. We looked like a poised veteran playoff squad. It’s hard to explain but the way they executed and seemingly never panicked was super impressive.

Marvin might be okay if not paired with Buddy. But Buddy and Marvin just aren’t a good pairing.
But was is a great pairing is Haliburton and Holmes. They ran that pick and roll with shades of Stockton and Malone. They are so clearly on the same page and you can’t really help off Buddy.

Remember though, it can all go away in a flash if Walton puts his motion sets back in. He did it once already after the last streak and it nuked it right then and there. Keep giving Fox his space and let Haliburton run pick and roll behind him and this team could go some places.

so then Marvin can be used as a super sub off the bench if he doesn't mesh with Holmes and if that doesn't sound enticing enough for him and he wants to start then ship him out

The Bagley thing probably isn't repairable but this squad now could use a big that could get you points in iso off the bench. If he were willing of course.

Ageed. The problem wasn't Bagley. The problem was having 2 weak links on defense. You can cover for one, but not two.

I disagree. Buddy's okay without Marvin, but not the other way around.
You can hide bad perimeter defenders. Not so much for a bad defensive big.

The Holmes/Bagley lineup was still a positive net rating squad but the defense was atrocious. The smalls put up like a 105-106 def rating which is pretty good in todays game but the Bagley/Holmes unit while yes, a positive net rating unit was like a 114 def rating. Yikes.

I think you can sub Bagley for Barnes and be better next season imo.

He would really look good with the second unit. Wright, Davis, Harklesss & Metu all play good defense.
