Kings-Sonics PBP for Oct. 9 (pre-season)

Welcome back for another year of Kings' basketball play-by-plays!

For those who may not have ever seen these threads before, this is my attempt to share with those of you who cannot see the game a narrative from a hardcore Kings fan's point of view.

I watch the game and, at the same time, I type an ongoing play-by-play. I may make the occasional mistake but I hope it gives you a bit of a feeling of what's happening on the court.

Tonight will be my training camp so please forgive typos, occasional brain lapses, etc.

All I ask is that people NOT comment in this thread. We have the game discussion thread (usually started by piksi but he generally doesn't do pre-season) for you to share your feelings, etc. In addition, we do have chat available at mIRC (server irc.bludgeon.org, channel #kingsfans). At least I think chat will be available. You'll have to check at game time.

It's time for Kings basketball! Once again, the world feels like a better place.

It's almost Kings basketball time!!!

HousePartyLive is over - Kayte Christensen (sp?) is the new co-host, along with Henry and Koz. And now, after the commercial, we'll be heading inside to check in with Grant and Jerry. Unless, of course, Grant has been replaced by Bozo the One-Legged Monkey, but I'm not holding my breath.

Now, for the first time in the 2007-2008 pre-season, I can say...

And the veterans once again hang back and let all the rookies enter the arena first. Bibby has lots of hair, Kevin looks great, Artest looks focused and some guy has apparently stolen #52 and is pretending to be Brad Miller. This guy looks GREAT!!!

The overall impression I got from all the player interviews and clips they just showed was a group of players UNITED as a team; a group who is - once again - very glad to be Kings. They're promoting the heck out of "going old school" with Reggie Theus...

I hadn't realized until this very moment how much I missed not seeing our Kings.

Are you ready for some Kings basketball? DAMN STRAIGHT!!!!

Artest inside, kicks out ot Martin, who misses but gets his own rebound. Called for oob. Soncis ball.

Nice intensity for this pre-season opener. Hope it stays even with Artest missing the first 7 games of the regular season.
