if this doesnt get max effort out of the band then nothing will.

regardless of the disfunction etc we are still in the hunt.

vlade needs to have more conversations with Karl to reiterate his discussions, as does he with our senior players then as team together.

- Karl doesn't stop throwing the players under the bus publicly

Fact is we barely beat 76ers by scoring 114 points and allowing 110. Any time you score 114 in regulation, you should be winning by 20.

The Kings better light a fire under their butts because Utah has moved into 7th and the Rockets are currently 8th. The Rockets roster is better than 8th and will start winning again.

you are right. Vlade needs to be involved more here and pull Karl into line given he is backing him to turn us around here.

I think we would be 4 1/2 games out of 8th after tonight.

The number 8 and 9 teams are playing each other, so no matter the outcome, we will be at least 4 1/2 games out of the playoffs.

I am pretty sure that we will look better after the break. I highly doubt we will be a defensive stalwart and I doubt we make the playoffs in any case. Look, I'm down with firing Karl as much as you are given our situation, but that didn't happen. So what did you expect would happen with the team the very next game? Some overnight miracle? I'm just glad we got a win! Sixers broadcast showed Vlade on the phone quite a bit. Exciting!

Those were good individual performances. I guess I meant to say that I didn't see anything which encourages me that significant changes are being made. Collison has had big games before. Acy may have only played in the 4th quarter because Willie got injured. This time we gave up 110 points to a team that is averaging 95 points per game. They hit 15 threes, many of them wide open. We needed a 39 point 4th quarter to sneak by an 8 win team. Nothing was solved here, we're still making the same mistakes. We're still the same terrible defensive squad. We just happened to make enough shots to win this time.

Karl has had 50+ games to improve defensive schemes. It's not like he realized yesterday the team's defense is horrid.

Yeah it's not. But it was yesterday that he almost got fired but didn't and supposedly agreed with Vlade about a renewed emphasis on certain things such as defense. How the team performed in that regard was not going to change much overnight. I did see Rondo being a lot more active on deflections.
