No offense but I don't think he would. The guy wanted ROY pretty bad and I would too if I was him, I'd be pissed if they gave it to Curry but because GSW finished with a better record than us they might. I feel bad for Reke, because of our craptastic team he might get jipped out of the award.
Doubt more than a handful of votes could turn up on such things. Indeed think most of the national voters have already voted.

I don't want to start a new thread on this but thinking out loud...

As a Kings fan who would you pick if it was a choice between Turner or Wall - which means we luck out and get #1 pick?
For me, it would be a very difficult choice but I tilt slightly towards Wall - very slightly. PG's with his high level of skill, lightening speed, are very hard to come by in any draft. Reminds me of Russell Westbrook but better - and that's scary! Turner as a 2 guard swingman is more dime a dozen traditionally, but he could turn out to be very special, maybe superstar special - thus hard to decide.

Taking it further, suppose Kings get #2 pick - is it automatic you select whoever is sitting there between clearly recognized two top college basketball players from 2009-10?
For me, it's a no brainer as I'd gladly grab whoever is left between Wall and Turner. Yes, I know we need front court help but these two are so special it would be foolish to go with lesser talent just for proverbial need. Look how Memphis got burned thinking that way in last years draft.

If Kings pick #3 and both Wall and Turner are gone - who do you select between Favors and Cousins?
I like Favors slightly over Cousins, but neither one by all that much over other options - Johnson, Whiteside, Aldrich, etc. Man I hope (pray!) we get no worse than #2 pick. #3 I can live with. #4 and I know it's just sorta ok. #5 and it's hello Wesley Johnson - maybe. #5 or worse - don't want to think about it.

Yah i know.. Remember back a couple years when we lost it? That cost of Joakim Noah!! :( Imagine a team with Evans, and Noah on it... + a top 4 pick this year... Yikes..
Things have a way of working themselves out.. we win that coin toss and you can be sure we're not in position for Cousins/Favors this year.. BTW I cant believe this happened.. waking up to see that GSW and WAS won was as if I was still dreaming.. too good to be true. Losses to NJN and MIN among others down the stretch were absolutely amazing. What an incredible season.. we find our star, secure what looks to be a top flight role player in the same draft, begin to tap donte's huge potential, see the resurrection of beno, AND put ourselves in excellent position to grab the star big man to put next to reke in this years draft.. a dream come true ladies and gentlemen!! Less than two weeks ago we were sitting in the 6th spot wondering if we'd have to pick 10th! 96% chance at top 5?? I'm loving those odds. The drafts never go as planned and I'd say theres a decent chance one of the guys we want will be sitting there at 5th should that be the case.. cant wait for the lottery

Easy, we had the worse record last year and where did we pick? #4 Like I said we have crappy luck. How can anyone say otherwise? Anyway, luck had nothing to do with getting Tyreke, that was Petrie's astute eye for talent.
That's one way to look at it. But if we had gotten #1 we may have picked Blake

This is great news! We can finish no worse than 6th, which is where DX currently has us ranked (hasn't been updated in a while). I'm not banking on getting the first overall pick, I'm just excited to hear that our chances at a top 4 pick have significantly increased from a few weeks ago. A top 4 pick guarantees us Wall, Turner, Cousins or Favors

I agree with this. We do have crappy luck. Always have. The only year we lucked out and got the #1 pick nobody even had a clue who deserved the #1 pick. I think we were mulling over Pervis Ellison, Stacy King, Danny Ferry, and a bunch of other losers. Of course, we settled on Pervis and the rest is history.

Petrie would have taken Tyreke at #2. The only player that was above him on the board was Blake.

honestly with our luck, well get the stinkin' 5th pick. things never go our way
IMHO all that ended the day we were lucky enough to land Tyreke AT #4 PICK!! I'm sorry I'm not going with that whole Kings have no luck crap anymore.

We have had things go really well for us lately. Lets stop being so melodramatic and ungrateful of the things that have been good.

That's not going to happen.
Kings improved 8 games, Warriors went down 3 games I think. Reke is locked for ROY.

Base my assumption on the BOX SCORE:
Portland didn't want to win and Warriors did, their starters 40+ min each except one. Portland have two starters, played pretty well, played 26 min total. I'm not sure why ROY wasn't in, was he hurt?

Anyhow I'm glad the Warriors got what they wanted. Good for them. Hope the enjoyment of that win last a long long long time. ;)

See you on draft day. :D

The ROY award has NOTHING...I repeat NOTHING to do with the team's record. This is not the MVP race. It is SUPPOSED to be based solely on the players talent and stats. Based on that Tyreke should win. Anything else means people took their dumb pill the day they submitted their ballot.

Umm not sure where you have been lol. Brandon Roy has a meniscus tear. He MAY be able to play for the playoffs, but he won't be as effective. My father had a meniscus tear, and it's fine utnil the two parts of the meniscus that are separated by the tear touch, then the world stops for a second.

I heard Grant and Mike talking about it and it sounded like his meniscus also slipped out of place? That's the worry of him trying to play on it, is it could pop out again. Umm with no meniscus supporting the leg it's bon on bone. My dad just had a knee replacement, because his mensicus was worn away.

I'm not saying Roy would need a knee replacement, because his problem can be fixed effectively with a little operation and rest. My point is that it is EXTREMELY painful when you are bone on bone, and playing basketball on that isn't really an option.

Adding on to what above poster said bout Roy, Warriors basically had no bench. Everyone was injured. George continued playing despite having 6 fouls.

Let's hope C-Webb isn't representing us again....

Is Darrick Martin or Scot Pollard available? :D
Wuster hereby volunteers to represent the Kings for no charge. Moreover, I guarantee a top 3 pick thereby eclipsing what C-Webb was able to bring back last year. ;)

What Webb brought us last year worked out pretty well. Couldn't be happier that we didn't get the #1, after seeing how this season has worked out.

Actually thats a good idea!

Blazers did it with Roy and jumped up from 6th to 1st. Tyreke is a face of the franchise and it would be fitting if he represented his team after he wins the ROY.
Plus, he's lucky number 13. Let's take this bad luck stigma and spit right in its face.

Too much mixed-in LA love -- could confuse the higher powers of fortune
And Vlade was #12 in LA, I'd hate to have that # come into play...UGH! I'm cool with sending Tyreke with a David Stern VooDoo doll so the city of Sacramento can poke a bunch of pins in it and give it too him as we get the first pick...right in the heart baby!

No, we have a 96% chance for top 5, a 4% chance for 6th. Still our odds just went sky high because of the stupid short sightedness of Washington and the golden state.
I think that has to do with the disintigration of their organizations. They are not acting cohesively. Curry went off, and of course why not, when your coach is Don Nelson. Washington has similar lack of leadership and direction. No one is really at the helm of those two clubs. The players just said, "**** it, I'm going to go off here." And I say... Yes you are!

I am so thankful GS and Washington didn't get the memo. You can have ROY Curry.....I'd much rather have the higher draft pick and I'm sure Reke feels the same way...at least I hope he does :)
There is no possibly way Reke doesn't get ROY. We win on both counts. But I get your sentiment, and Reke would have done the right thing. In fact he did, by getting tossed, turns out he's just so good that even when he doesn't play for stats, he get's them anyway.

Ok Geoff, Joe and Gavin... you have the stud player to build around. You have another great shot at a top 5 college player to add. Now surround your stud and next prized rookie with some talented free agent or traded players and get back to the playoffs!

Our chances at either Evan Turner or John Wall are great... if we could get a decent FA or two in the offseason, Like Rudy Gay and a Defensive C we could be in the playoffs next year... The chances of all that happening aren't great... but decent enough!
