I'm wondering if Royce White is going to come in and give more overall skillset than D-Will. It looks like he is a very similar size and frame, in a 'big' NBA 3. It shall be interesting
I don't care if he's a "match up" PF or whatever you want to call him he's our best PF and smartest big man and you know you will get something from him no matter what. The team plays better with him on the floor full stop I can't say the same for JT the dude is so wildly inconsistent and invisible a lot of the time.
Yeah I think Reggie energy and effort totally out weighs JT even though he is better defender. He total selfless player that plays hard and the team sorely needs that right now.
it would be nice to see Ray playing with Cousins and Rudy instead of being thrown out there with Evans,Acy,Ben,D-Will. None of whom you can rely on to hit a shot
I'll start a thread under prospects but don't guarantee I'll be there. So far White looks like a man among boys and that's what I expected. That's not the issue.

Except that he's not really inconsistent; his raw numbers are down, but his per/36 numbers are right online with his career averages, and I expect that to hold for the rest of the season. That's about as consistent as it gets. Consistently mediocre, but consistent nonetheless.
I am not convinced that Evans actually is our best power forward. Supposing, for the sake of argument, that I did, I will never understand the need some fans have to put our "best" five players in the starting lineup. I am not burdened with that particular handicap. Somebody has to come give a spark off the bench and, at the moment, I'd rather that person be Evans than Thompson.
And, seriously, HereWeVivek just got done complaining about Thompson not taking his defender far enough away from the paint to keep Cousins from getting doubled... If you think Thompson is bad at stretching the floor, Evans is definitely not going to fix that problem.

not at all, but if we are going to have a PF out there clogging the paint it might at well be Reggie who doesn't need touches on offense and rebounds better than anyone else on the team

This doubling Cousins and leaving Reggie means easy rebounds and putbacks for Reggie plus he moves without the ball better than any of our bigs he actually know how to roll to the rim. If Ben could actually shoot or replaced by Ray our floor spacing is a non issue
Presuming that the doubling doesn't result in Cousins getting stripped, instead?
I don't disagree with any of the positives that are pointed out about Evans' game. It just seems to me that it is practically Thomas-like in the way that his shortcomings tend to be ignored.
What? If he's getting stripped that's his own fault, Cousins is more than talented enough to handle a double team when he chooses to play smart basketball, teams are going to double Cousins regardless if Reggie or JT are out on the floor with him.
Did I write something about Cousins being stripped being Evans' fault in invisible ink? All I'm saying is that I wouldn't list "if Cousins gets doubled, Evans will get the rebounds" as part of the game plan.

No but it makes it harder for the opposition to get a body on Reggie meaning he will more likely get a rebound f the shot misses from a DMC kick out or forced shot(which he does a lot).

Anytime two players are mentioned in a thread it automatically means one is the cause of the others problems. Haven't you learned that by now? You are a big-assed grown man. Sheeeesh!!!
