As I said last night, we play that same Bucks team on a different night when those 2nd half shots from everyone aren’t going in near as often, they don’t beat us. Even with that 1st half MVP Giannis performance.

Our schedule is still quite brutal though. Memphis's schedule looks easier, and they have a 1 game lead over us. Despite them missing some key players, it might be tough to beat them, but there is a chance, for sure. Let's see.

I'd take us in a 7 game series over Memphis right now. Obviously they could get some guys back that would kill us (Adams, moreso than Ja). I feel like we can still win 2 more games than them.

I’ve said for awhile I didn’t think Memphis would struggle long enough to be passed by us. Didn’t think they’d regain their powers after Ja loses his mind, Adams loses his knee, and the other guy loses his Achilles. They’re scary just because of their attitude. It would be a wild series for sure.

They are a tough team, but they also beat Mavs twice without their two big stars. They certainly are deeper than Mavs to withstand injuries.

It would be great if we can pass them (and Nuggets. Yes, I'm greedy), but I'll be content with a 3rd seed if it so happens.

A great team in past several seasons and again this year, but they're not a dynasty team, and competition from Celts, Cavs, and 6ers are all there to check; even the Knicks have shown ability to challenge. They could be called the favorites, but I wouldn't be surprised if they flame out either.

The Suns game was very similar to the Kings game......Bucks used an end push in the final 3 or 4 mins to pull away after the Suns took a brief lead.

Nuggets lost again tonight.....lots of teams still in it for the Play-in, so that's good generally - motivation still there. Suns are getting bullied by Bucks even more so than the Kings. Watch out for Warriors. Bulls recently beat Nuggets - they are not pushovers. Kings will need to refocus - likely without Lyles - Edwards will get more minutes. He needs to work on his shooting.

I'd attribute that more to the Nuggets being in a bit of a free fall lately (they've lost 4 straight, including a loss to the Spurs) but as we're all painfully aware, no game is an automatic win.

I guess my opinion would change slightly if we find out that if he is out drinking or misbehaving he'll get a much stiffer penalty. I think you don't fix the behavior he's been exhibiting over a week or two. It actually requires a separation of the activities that promote the behavior. I used to have a travel job in my mid-20s. I helped open a casino in Vegas and was given a full comp at it's sister property during the time I was there. After 5 o'clock it was straight to the bar for two shots and two beers while I got ready for dinner and night on the strip. I have to imagine the NBA life is pretty similar if you are in a reckless state like Ja appears to be in. He can't just be unsupervised. But if he's on a strict zero tolerance policy or he will be put into an inpatient program for 2-3 months if he gets caught once, I think I can accept that as long as he gets help at the conclusion of the season.

Well, ideally, I'd also like for the Lakers to miss out on the play-in, and lose their pick to the Pelicans, but if they do make it to the play-in, and we move up to that 2nd seed at the end of the day, I'd much rather the Lakers find their way into that 7th seed, so we can be the ones to eliminate them in the 1st round.

Same here. The Lakers are a really bad matchup for us. They have a lot of length on the team from AD, Vanderbilt, Rui, Bamba, and Gabriel. It kinda seems like the team struggles against opponents who can bother shots in the paint and close out on shooters.

I think Kings actually like the hostile crowds. Their road record is getting close to their home record, and may overtake! That may be good as they'll have 2 more road games than home games remaining it looks like

I agree that the life situation is analogous; I disagree that both situations reflect poorly on the employer. In your story, your employer is directly involved in incentivising unhealthy behavior, by providing an employee perk that’s inevitably going to ruin some people.

The NBA’s, (or Nike/Gatorade’s) stake is different; It’s a little murky, since they’re interested in Morant as a public figure, so things he does in public can diminish his value as an employee/endorsee. But NBA players aren’t always in public, and it’s inappropriate for an employer to intervene in an employees private affairs. Although the NBA employs “kids”, it doesn’t imply it’s on them to be parents of last resort

I was listening to the postgame commentary when the Kings played on TNT and Chuck mentioned that he made only $2 million in his first couple of years and I'd imagine a player of his stature that others were in the same ball park and you didn't see many players going off the loose end with the money
