Back to beginnings here. On February 25th 1999 Kings beat Wizards in DC 115-105 to improve to 6-6 for the "shortened" season. Kings front line was just "insane" in this one and Wizards clearly couldn't deal with it. Chris and Vlade pretty much put the Wizards away n which defense was taboo.
Webber who visited the DC for the first time after he was traded posted a triple double. He had 17/10/10/1st, Vlade had 22/17/6/1/2bl, JWill had 17/5/6/4st, Corliss had 16/5/4 and TAW had 12/2/1. Maxwell had 13/2/3 before fouling out in 20 minutes off the bench.

"I tried to detach myself from it and just try to play the game," Webber said. "I still have friends and family here and that's all. I'm very surprised with the cheers. I'm glad they still appreciate me."

"I'm sure he was fired up, but I wouldn't have known it," Sacramento coach Rick Adelman added. "So far, he's been the anchor for this team."

"This team passes and is totally unselfish," Adelman said. "It's really nice to see that for a change."

"I just go out each game and do whatever I can to help the team win," Williams said. "If the crowd likes it, so be it. If they don't, so be it. Getting the win is the bottomn line, though."

good old times

After another pathetic performance against the Nets, Kings drop to 23 - 31 for the season which is season record tying 8 games below .500. Kings didn't need full 24 hrs to start yet another losing streak by dropping the first set of back the backs. Despite major sucking Kings are only 3 games back on a 8th PO spot currently held by the Hornets - WOW. On the other hand Kings have the 9th worst record, trailing Blazers by 1/2 game for the 8th. Kings are also 5-5 in February with 3 games to go.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
So how long will Ron keep it together and who is he going to choke first ? He is playing insanely well ever since he had to feed his dog. He has already started to give comments showing how much he is displeased about things lately. If we have March as bad as I think we will - it will be interesting. I still hope the Ron is selective if he decides to choke someone. He can't really choke Muss because we need to keep losing. He can't choke Mike - at least not before we dump that salary either way. Now Ron choking KT is an interesting idea. It would certanly be the only way to prevent KT for being a King for a very long, long time.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
It is certainly great to see Kings being "sharp" as a spoon after the all star break making that push for the lottery - I mean the play offs. Let's give credit to the coaching stuff and the veteran leadership on our roster. I still believe that our current roster is capable of losing 20 more games till the end of the season. We only need to go 9-19 and we are certainly good enough to do it. We are ultimately going to win some games just because Muss can't get anything right all the time. He is even mediocre at losing. I am looking for more almost wins and I sure am glad not to be a season ticket holder.

---------------------------------------------------------------------
It is a BSPN game but luckily the academy awards may get people to avoid watching us suck at national stage. My duty is to issue

WALTON ALERT !

You know the drill and may god have mercy to our souls. Even John Barry can't offset the most horrible commentating in history of western civilization. We may luck out and get Hubie Brown - other than that just watch the Oscars. We will not luck out with 2 or 3 stooges in the BSPN studio. I am sure that they will have nice things to say about us.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Coach's corner yet again sponsored by Everclear, Microsoft and suicide hotline. Way to get us ready to play "coach"! What happened - did he reschedule the half time speech for the beginning of the game ? I think that someone should tell the guy that KT sucks already. Other than that - same old Muss - running around clueless and incompetent.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
In the game of the 2 almost winningest teams in the NBA Kings prevailed yet again but it wasn't really an almost win even though Kings did make it close. Jason Kidd had a triple double with a cracked rib. Mike Bibby had 3 pts and an assists. Eddie House was clearly the best player in the family that night and he proved that he shouldn't have been snubbed from the all star game. The game had total of 40 turnovers on 51 assists. You take Kidd's 10a/1TO and the rest is pretty much garbage.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
AWARD TIME

TDM - went to Eddie House for an MVP performances. I issue an apology for not mentioning him as a TDM candidate. Shame on my part. I should have known better. I offer no excuses.

LW-VC award went to J. Collins. Extremely useless player for someone who actually tries hard.

JHA award will be shared by Mike, Kevin, Brad and Kenny. Really hard to tell who sucked worse and who was more useless
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Pacers are next and the actually need wins. Our best shot of winning this game is just to randomly call 911 during the game. Half of the Pacers would disappear and the other half would "assume the position" Other than that it will be nice to see how much Pacers fans miss Ron and also to see how Ron will perform on the court. I am pretty sure that Kings will almost wint this game.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Mike - one good game every leap year
Kevin - it happens
Ron - just choke them man
Brad - come on man
------------------------------------------------------
Rest - mateen
---------------------------------------------------------
Muss - git-r-done
-------------------------------------------------------------
Pacers have been mediocre since the trade as far as I can tell but even mediocre should be too good for us. JO will have a field trip. Foster will out rebound the Kings and Mike will make even Tinsley look like a NBA player. TDM award will go to Daniels. LW - VC award will go to Dunleavy just as it did the last time he sucked when we played warriors. A JHA award will be given out again. Honestly - just watch Oscars

Fantastic!! I loved the segment for Artest...funny stuff. The academy award presentations were hilarious...and spot on. :D

hey im kinda new around here n was just curious what the abreviations for the awards stood for and what "Rest - Mateen" means. lil help anyone...thanks

TDM - Tony Delk Memorial - for the player that will come out and torch us, making himself look like an instant all-star in the process. Named after a former Kings player, Tony Delk.

LW-VC award - Luke Walton Vacuum Cleaner award - for the player that displays the best example of pure suckitude.

JHA - Jason Hart award. Should be self-explanatory. ;)

Mateen Cleaves was extremely useful to the Kings - as long as he didn't actually step onto the court. His towel-waving prowess is still talked about today.

VF...I have always wondered why the LW-VC award includes the namesake of Luke Walton. He has pretty much evolved into the cornerstone of the Lakers....I dunno, maybe there is something i forgotten.

Because Kenny Thomas abused him in a national game last season, and was pretty much universally regarded as the singular reason the Lakers lost that game.

It was probably the best game Thomas has ever played as a King (was that the 3-D game?), and Luke Walton's inept play was why.

Commentators.....

for tomorrows game on espn for there sunday night games is usually john saunders, greg anthony, and tim legler. So expect those three to be commentating the game.

What? I'm trying to figure ou how I missed that one lol, cuz as far as I remember the Kenny Thomas has never accomplished anything close to a triple double.

I guess it was on some day that I somehow neither signed onto KingsFans or watched the game (or somehow wasn't remotely alive becuz that news is just shocking).

Kings Rally, Overcome Bryant’s 51 Points

SACRAMENTO, Calif., Jan. 19 (Ticker) -- Mistakes down the stretch by the Los Angeles Lakers gave the Sacramento Kings a chance. Mike Bibby, Brad Miller and Kenny Thomas took full advantage.

Bibby scored 23 of his 40 points in the fourth quarter and overtime, Miller forced the extra session with a rare 3-pointer and Thomas took over after regulation to finish with his first career triple-double as the Kings rallied for a 118-109 victory over the Lakers, who wasted a 51-point effort from Kobe Bryant.

Bibby was the star throughout for Sacramento, but Thomas shined in the extra session, scoring six straight points for the Kings to open a 113-107 lead and finding rookie Francisco Garcia for a 3-pointer and his 10th assist moments later.

"They put Luke (Walton) on me and coach called the play for me," said Thomas, who finished with 16 points, 12 rebounds and a career-high 10 assists. "I was just trying to be aggressive, I'm the bigger guy. The very first time I got it, Mike (Bibby) told me not to settle for anything less than a layup so I was just trying to get to the hole and be aggressive."

The efforts by Bibby and Thomas spoiled Bryant's 12th game with at least 40 points.

"It was a big win," Bibby said. "We kept fighting and didn't give up. I kept telling everybody the game's not over yet, and we did what we had to in overtime."

Los Angeles held a 102-97 lead with 35 seconds left in regulation after Bryant found Lamar Odom for a 3-pointer.

A foul led to Miller's free throw seconds later and Odom quickly turned the ball over, allowing Bibby to make a 3-pointer with 18 seconds to go to cut the Kings' deficit to 102-101.

Bryant was fouled five seconds later and hit both free throws to extend his franchise record of made foul shots to 48. Miller then was left alone with 4.1 seconds to go and buried a game-tying 3-pointer -- just his 10th of the season -- from the top of the key.

Thomas was caught with the ball on the wing and leaped to find Miller wide open as the clock was winding down.

"The patience at the end of the game there when Brad hit the three was terrific," Sacramento coach Rick Adelman said. "We had plenty of time, we moved the ball around and they made a mistake and left Brad standing there. Then in the overtime we took control, especially when Odom fouled out."

"Mike kept telling me to keep shooting that ball," said Miller, who had missed 10-of-11 second-half shots before hitting the tying basket. "I was thinking, 'I'm not even close on these,' but (my teammates) had confidence and just stuck with it. Traditional Kings (basketball), moving it around. I was just open and I was due to make one finally."

The Lakers called timeout to set up a play for Bryant, but Odom's 3-pointer at the buzzer hit off the front of the rim as Bryant worked to get free on the wing.

"I take the blame for that (game)," said Odom, who was called for a charge on an ill-advised drive to the hoop with 22 seconds to go. "I should have ran the clock down more (with 30 seconds left). First time in a long time, my aggressiveness beat me. I was thinking get to the basket. A flop call on a team that is dead, I kind of gave them new life. It's a tough call but I guess it was the right call."

No team scored in overtime until Bibby's 3-pointer with 3:36 left gave Sacramento the lead for good, 107-104, and Thomas scored underneath on three straight possessions as the Kings took control.

The Lakers finally collapsed on Thomas and he passed out to Garcia, who hit his third 3-pointer to make it 116-107 with 54 seconds to go.

"Weird things happen in the NBA, and tonight was one of them," Bryant said. "We had a chance to win the game and just didn't close it out. They made some big shots down the stretch and came away with the victory. Even though (Odom) made a mistake, as a team, defense down the stretch cost us the ballgame."

"With our team, we're still learning what's a good enough lead," Los Angeles coach Phil Jackson said. "We didn't use the clock wisely and they made some big plays."

Miller had 16 points and 10 rebounds and Peja Stojakovic returned from a three-game layoff with a sore back to collect 13 and 10 as Sacramento won its third straight for the first time in a month to get their home record above .500 at 12-11.

Shareef Abdur-Rahim, his mouth still wired shut due to a broken jaw, scored 11 points in his first game since sustaining the injury against Portland on Dec. 26.

Bryant shot 17-of-35 from the floor but just 2-of-7 in overtime. Odom had 16 points, 10 rebounds and six assists before fouling out less than a minute into the extra session.

Bryant had 26 points at halftime to keep his club within 54-52 at the break. Miller made a jumper to give the Kings a 65-60 lead midway through the third quarter, but Bryant responded with a jumper and two free throws to highlight a 12-3 burst as the Lakers claimed a lead they would hold well into the fourth.

Odom's layup gave Los Angeles its largest advantage, 89-81, with 8:41 to go. Bibby buried a 21-footer and hit a 3-pointer in the next minute to spark a 12-2 run as Sacramento claimed a 93-91 advantage.

Bryant then made two free throws, three tough jumpers and assisted on Odom's late 3-pointer in the final minute to put the Lakers up five. They managed just one field goal thereafter.

It wasnt waltons fault really, It was just a bad defensive match up. Thomas was to big for walton. You cant blame walton for being abused by kenny any more than you can blame Martin for getting abused by walton earlier this year. Bad match ups thats all. the blame goes to the coach.

Woah... Thomas is bigger than someone?

I need a moment

No Artest and No O'Neal....

Artest is back in New York attending to personal reasons and Jermaine O'Neal is out with a sore knee.

No Artest...oh well, we'll be lucky to score 75 in this game, now. No JO or not, the Pacers are WAY to big for us, and we should lose big...Foster/Murphy/Granger=40 rebounds.
