[Game] Kings @ Pacers 11/3/12

A pick and pop game with Reke/Cuz could be interesting, but Reke hitting Cuz out of a spread set like they ran for him at Memphis could be option B for this team. Think he hit Cuz once with that tonight.

They don't run a great pick n roll by any means, but Reke did have some success coming off aggressive and attacking, and other times he came off, held up a little, waited for Cuz to roll into the paint and hit him. There was a pick n pop in there too. We need to let these two build on their two man game. Cuz got his best shots all night off Reke.

ya you guys are definitly Over-Praising Hayes. i know his defense was great at times. and i didnt say we lost cause of him. they lost because DMC couldnt make a shot in OT-2OT yet he kept trying. i hate how he plays under the rim and throws up horrible shots just trying to get fouls called. drives me crazy. and Smart's rotations are the other reason. especially the second quarter. and playing Garcia at all is just inexcusable.

He ain't Wilt, don't get it twisted, but anyone who suggests it ridiculous that Hayes be playing when and where he was is wrong. And is over exaggerating in contrast to over-praising.

something something coach smart, something something coach smart.

the formula for the perfect kingsfans.com forum post.

night all.

if they lose monday, the season is over

If Smarts answer is to put Outlaw in there at the 3, the future is over. Anyone who can't see the positives when you do something and instead does the exact opposite leading the same result just doesn't know what he's doing.

Wow. This team is so frustrating. The road has been awful for the Kings. They need to win their next game!

You guys are seriously looking at it wrong.

This was a great loss. Better as a win. But this was a great loss. This is a loss where you can point at it and say you give the same effort at home and you win. And now we start playing everything at home for a month.

Indeed. As long as we keep this defensive effort up, things will simply have to get better as long as Demarcus stops sucking.

I find it hard to believe some of you can pin this loss on Smart.

He didn't make Cousins shoot 9-26

He didn't cause 9 TO's from IT and Reke and at least 10+ unforced TO's

He didn't miss 12+ wide open jumpers or puts backs that easily could have won us the game.

This loss is purely on the players. The starters had ample time to win this game and they couldn't execute

Yeppers.

I find it funny how after an entire offseason of "Keith Smart can't coach defense!" posts, we're now drowning in "Keith Smart can't coach offense!" posts

This doesn't just land on the coach.

These guys are a mess collectively. Sloppy basketball from the first whistle. Missing shots is one thing, I can live with that. But the unforced turnovers are unacceptable.

Thats not to say the Pacers were that much better. The looked pretty weak for the most part too. These are the games we should win. Disappointing start to the season for sure.

Watch both ends of the court. We're only a mess on one end. On the other we're immensely competitive right now. We're 5th in the league in Opp FG%. That's the best we have been since 2003-03, the year we should have won the title.

Far better to be this way than the other, because we KNOW that a ton of our guys have been big offensive players in the recent past. That will come.

You think he called that play? I don't, the first option was clearly thornton.

Well, the play went about like this: Inbounds, ball passed immediately to Cousins on the block, Cousins attacks the basket. Either we're supposed to think that Cuz was told to kick out to a 3PT shooter and simply didn't despite the game situation dictating otherwise, or Smart drew up a dumb play. Honestly, hell if I know. But if Cuz is supposed to kick out to the 3 point line and doesn't, then trade him for value. If a guy can't LISTEN TO HIS COACH, then trade him for value.

But I really kind of doubt that happened. I simply don't have the faith in Smart to believe he drew up a three point play. I figure he just said "dump it to Cuz down low, let him score, and we'll figure it out". Then again, I don't have a lot of faith in Smart. I'm not sure why that is, considering I've been watching him coach the team for a year. (/sarc)

The crazy thing is that last year we could score at will, but couldn't defend. This year (3 games) we can defend at will, but can't score. I don't know what to make of it.

Heck, we're going home 3-0 if DeMarcus plays at half the level he's supposed to. The defense, the support from Reke, Thornton, and the rest of the role players have for the most part been there for all 3 games. It's a matter of him pulling his head of out his *** and starting to finish shots. We will not win with him having 7 TO and in foul trouble, or 9-26 shooting performances.
