As second smartest man in the history of mankind - Forest Gump - one said - before You can move on - You have to put the past behind. And I am talking about "immediate" past in general and the 2nd half of the tonight game in particular. So, I am going to put this game thread tonight so I don't have to carry this with me any longer. I tried with alcohol first but I don't have enough to wash this off and I don't want to ruin my Sunday either. If You by any chance wondering who the smartest man in history of mankind is - You will have to wait for another occasion.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kings fell apart in the 2nd half in DC and lost this 3rd game on the 5 game road trip trough the worse part of the Eastern Conference. Kings are 1-2 on the trip, 1-10 on the road and 9-14 for the season which is the 8th worst in the NBA. Kings also dropped to 1-4 on the 2nd night of the back to back sets. After 2 days off Kings have another back to back set in New Jersey and Milwaukee where we don't have any pressure since we already won a game on the road.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Good thing about the NBA is that there is no time to dwell over the losses because the next game is around corner and so on. Now I can promise You that Kings will be losing so much in the future (at least next couple years) that soon no one will remember this particular loss until I remind You of it. It is pretty much the same way we did with all those wins we had over the year just the opposite. On the other hand - there are some wins and losses that stay around for ever. The ones that You remember where You where, who was with You, what You felt and that is never going to go away unless You get a lobotomy but then You run of danger to become a Laker fan and that is way to big of the risk - don't You think ?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Jacking up threes is a favorite hobby of the healthy perimeter players currently employed by the Kings. The motto is - "Whatever You miss - I can miss more than You." Awesome . Even Antoine Walker shook his head - well maybe not. When You down 10 points - You won't cut the deficit by missing 5 threes. It is a gambler mentality. You lose some and then You lose some more by trying to win Your previous losses back. In simple words - it is how bad teams operate. And it would be nice if we had a coach who could stop it. It is easy. If You don't know how to do it just watch good coaches. If You play for Pop and You make one retarded decision - You get a mean look. Second one is followed by cursing preferably in Serbian. The third is also a last You will make for a long time. That goes for every Spurs player on the roster. It seams to work for them.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Every team in this league - no matter how bad it is - has certain defensive schemes. In other words if a player is constantly open at certain spots - it is for a reason. When zone is played - it is for a reason. we have those too. Against Jazz - we let Okur get anything and he took it and couldn't make it. Tonight - they gave us the jump shots and it was a good strategy since we were tired and since our best shooters are injured. Eddie Jordan is a good coach. He also had a good "teacher". Good teams are capable of avoiding those traps and playing their game. We aren't and we don't really have a game to play anyways - in other words - no identity. Even when we were making them the "house" was winning because the legs were going to get heavy at some point. Unfortunately, the brains didn't get that part.
------------------------------------------------------------------
Danthey Jones is a new edition to this team and he has already won some plus points in my book. Not because he had a great dunk, some steals, points or other on court contributions. That doesn't impress me. What impressed me is his behavior on the bench. He is bringing some life into that funeral home. He is a new guy with no clue of how long he will stick around or if he will get any court time but that doesn't stop him to wave towel, cheer the guys on and bust morale any way he knows how. Mateen would be proud.

Christmas shopping for the NBA part 2. Having "couple" of beers sure help the imagination. I am a bad Santa.

A team that allows 100+ pts per game held the Kings to 79 points and 28 pts in the 2nd half. Walker shoots threes because there ain't no fours. Kings shot so many threes tonight simply because - http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikiped..._1_arp_750px.jpg/250px-Donkey_1_arp_750px.jpg. Simple as that. When You add 19 turnovers and 9 missed free throws - what else is to be expected. John and Ron scored combined 20 points. From the twin towers that we had last night - at least one was left. And Cisco - what can You say other than that he is not a damn PG nor will he ever be.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
AWARD TIME

My TDM winner picks Haywood and Mason had a hard fight for this prestigious title and Mason won it due to being more unknown to me.

LW-VC went to Butler but they really didn't need more from him

JHA award went to Ron Artest because he was as efffective as Jason Hart used to be and still is.

KT gets another SAR - Methuselah award for 3 rb and a foul in 12+ minutes of unprovoked playing time

Coach T gets his second career DNC-CD

WTF moment of the game - the whole 2nd half
-------------------------------------------------------------
Nets are next and they suck too. They are 10-14 and 5-9 at home which is still good enough in the much much improved Eastern Conference:rolleyes:. They have lost 7 of their last 10 games and they have problems scoring, they don't have any front line which opens the possibility of the "return of the twin towers." Also since Kings are probably staying in NYC - we will see how that curfew is working. We have to forget the Wizards game and focus on not sucking as much which really shouldn't be too hard. And if possible - take care of that orange round thing that is jumping all around ant it is so hard to control.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Ron - so close to his home so I hope he stays out of trouble
Beno - take care of the ball
Salmons - need to work much harder
Mikki - his former team should pay for our 17 millions
Brad - the man right now

Hawes - not good enough
Cisco - You are and You will never be a PG
Jones - keep it up
rest - whatever

Coach T - it is okay to banch a player when he continues to make dumb decisions
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Nets are having health issues just like us. They don't have a front court. They are perimeter oriented. Kidd will have a triple double, Jeffeson and Carter will get their FGAs but that might not be enough. They don't have much else but neither did the Wizards. TDM will go to S Williams. Carter will get the LW-VC, other awards as needed. It looks like another ugly game.

Heh. I like him already.

When you look at it that way, I can't help but wonder how much the loss of Cleaves actually impacted the way I look at the team?

My plans have changed and I will be absent from tonight to the January 3rd which will include 7 games. I should be back for the Cavs game on January the 4th. Someone will need to substitute/take over at least until then.

On a personal note - I wish all the members and their families all the best for the holidays and a happy and successful 2008. Stay safe.

Our Kings - I wish that 2007 never happens again and that 2008 becomes the year of new beginning.

I am going to the game tonight! A good break from my studying. Finals week has been hectic. Well, the whole semester has been, actually. Nonetheless, I am excited to watch this current team, live, even though they aren't very good. I need a break from school !!!

GO KINGS ! :D

Man...

...no Piksi for two weeks? Gotta find a high bridge...

Enjoy your vacation! And bring home lots of rock, plant, seed and insect samples for your next quiz for the sake of generating puzzled, angry students.

OK. I know we really want to see the team take it to the hole, but Ron is really forcing things early. Taking ill-advised jump shots is no worse than trying to force inside. Well, maybe it is.

the problem is hes not taking it when he has the advantage...he waits for the double team then forces it into the middle trying to draw fouls.

He needs to pass it out and look for a repost.

What do you think we could get for a KT/Douby package deal? I'd be willing to accept a 2 year Netflix subscription...
