Kings need to finish 22-7...

the kings need to finish 22-7 to match their record from last year... that would put them at 55 Wins and 27 Losses... this will probably get them the #5 seed this year and another 1st round matchup with the dallas mavs... if the kings finish any lower, #6 wouldn't be too bad, since they would probably play seatle instead of dallas... i think a seattle matchup would be more favorable for the kings because the sonics would have wrapped up the northwest division title so long before the playoffs, they probably won't be focused and they also have no playoff experience...

any lower than #6 though, the kings will face the spurs or suns and face a very probable first round elimination

If the Kings go 22-7, I think they'll have the #4 seed.

Our team is not the only factor, If any of the allstar players for other teams go down with an injury they could go on a losing streak. It is still to early to be thinking about what seed the Kings will be, the way they are playing now who knows if they will make the playoffs.

BABY STEPS...

especially in the playoff,

injury of either Nash, Marion or Amare would result in an elimination of Suns;
similar issure on other teams:

Ducan in Spurs;
Allen or Lewis in Sonics;
Dirk in Dallas;
T-mac in Rockets;
Kobe in Lakers (questionable for playoff)
Webber, Bibby, or Miller in Kings
Casol in Grizzles

In addition, if the Mavs lose Dampier or Howard or now even Terry, they are done as well. If the Spurs lose Manu or Parker they are done. If Yao goes down Rockets are finished as well as Sura going down since he's the PG now. If Odom goes down the Lakers are in trouble as well. In Grizzles camp, Gasol and probally Jayson Williams go down their seasons are done. If the Kings lose Mobley or Peja were also done. You can't win a title without any of your major pieces. I can't remember a time when a team won a title without a Major piece of the puzzle, it just doesn't happen. To win you have to be a great team, a little lucky and healthy. Without those 3 things your probally not going to win a title.

This isn't football where you lose one guy and that is 1/22nd of your starting lineup, in the NBA you lose a starter for the playoffs your probally done if he plays any major minutes.
