Yah. I just liked the look of the Black Jerseys in the playoffs vs the Lakers.

Those are the jerseys they need. And the Purple ones but those 3 would be perfect. do the white jerseys we have now still have that black writing and print? if not I like the one webber has on.

I must say I do miss the black jerseys....I still have my black Bibby jersey and I refuse not to continue to sport it even thought it is now outdated...We do need to keep our purple on the jersey somewhere though..they picked purple as one of our colors for a reason, it's a symbol of royalty and I'm proud of it! :D

Ok - so I know this is totally shallow of me . . . but I want to keep the purple.
#1 Because I now have some very nice purple shirts to wear to games and when I wear black it is generally the "fat time of the month" and I am attempting to hide those unsightly pounds.
#2 Black makes me think of the Raiders... which make me think of Football .. that silly sport where they spend all their time measuring lines, slapping each other on the butt and in general are sooooooooooo boring compared to the wonderful game of basketball.
#3 I would go with Pink satin rather than the baby blue (alright maybe not pink satin - but you get the drift.
#4 Purple is one of my favorite colors.
#5 I do associate purple with the kings
#6 VF would have to change all the colors on Kingsfans.com

Haha you know what's funny, I did a thing for fun once suggesting to my friend we go with new jersies next year. With Webber gone we need a new identity, and I think the colors will show that (I was bored). I'm mainly proposing the colors rather then the logo design that I placed as a holder. I would like the Kings get a feel of past greatness and a distint different power that's leading to greatness:

i like the current design of the jerseys, just hate the purple. i donno if anyone here is good with photoshop but can someone make a picture of the current away jersey in black with "Sacramento" pasted across the chest? i think that having sac on the front is the most crucial part of the road jersey. you need to pull that out to show all of the opposing arenas where exactly you are from.

I didn't vote either, but here's my opinion anyway.

I like the black alternates and wouldn't mind at all if they went back to the days when we had EITHER black or purple as our road jerseys (you guys clamoring to 'bring back the black' do remember that we actually wore both colors during that period of time, right?)

Bringing back the color black isn't going to make this team 'tougher'. The uniforms are not the problem.

i don't dislike the purple ones that much ( i have one) but i would love to bring back the black ones, maybe have alternate road jerseys, with the black sometimes. i think that would be pretty cool

That's pretty much my sentiment. I actually enjoyed the purple third jersey and bought player jerseys in that color only. That shade of purple seemed quite darker than the current ones. There's nothing about the current road unis that I like, be it the Monarchy lettering or the design on the shorts that screams out Dolphin shorts from the 80's.

If they do a third jersey, I'd like to see them do something different instead of just changing colors, like incorporate the main logo onto the front of the jersey somehow.

Whoa...Sorry, but those are not what I would like to see the Kings in.

And I disagree vehemently with your basic premise that because Webber is gone the team needs a new identity. It's the name on the front that matters; not the name on the back. The team was the Kings before Webber and they're the Kings now. They don't need a new identity and they certainly don't need to be prancing around the court in powder blue uniforms with stripes.

Those designs scream "Retro Orlando Magic" to me. Brings back memories of
"Lil' Penny" and "Shaq-Fu"

and to all those who say it can't make the kings "look tougher", would you want them wearing pink kings jerseys. color does play a factor.

Well, why didn't you say so? I never realized that the secret to all our defensive problems was making our team look tougher!

But, why stop at black uniforms? Why not just issue them fatigues and camouflage face paint? Then they'll look really tough! Nobody will want to go in the lane when they see guys in fatigues! They'll all be like, "man, those guys are wearing fatigues! I'm not driving the lane on them; they look too tough~!"

And to think, we've thought that the reason that the Kings are so weak defensively has been a lack of concentration, commitment and effort, and it's been their wardrobe the whole time! I've got to remember to wear fatigues to my next pickup game.

I wouldn't want them wearing pink jerseys because pink isn't one of our colors. I think you may sadly be mixing image with actual production. I don't want them to 'look' tougher, I want them to BE tougher, no matter what they are wearing.

Apparently Jerome James never would have averaged 19/10 or whatever against us if only we were wearing black jerseys. Or something.

Sadly, i think you mistaken EVERYTHING i've said. Let me clear this up and then i am done. I, repeat, I, thought it made them look tougher. Focus on the word "I". Not be tougher, act tougher, play tougher, but look tougher............to me, no one else. OK, thats an opinion. I never said it would help their production, or slow down Jerome James, or win a championship. But, I like the color black and to me it looks better, thats all. This is not a discussion on whether or not a color change will improve the kings performance, because there is an obvious answer to that.

For the record: There's been a misunderstanding between thesanityannex and a couple of other members, including me. Bottom line is he's here because he loves the Kings, just like we do, and he wants to discuss them, just like we do. Sometimes there are different ways to read posts, which we all know, and an innocent comment can be taken to mean something else.

Let's all calm down and relax. It's only May. If we're this touchy now, it could get really ugly by October. And if there's a lockout, I don't even want to think about how frayed everyone's nerves could be.
