Kings @ Mavs Game Thread

I'll tell you what the Mavs announcers are awesome. They show alot of respect to the opposing team and are extremely knowledgable about basketball.

I am proud of the effort; I am even more proud of the team play.

I LOVE THIS TEAM!!!

A. Johnson coached well down the stretch. Is it me or is our team constantly not executing well during crunch time. Think this lies on Musselman and his staff.

He thinks they're worth 4 points.

He's killing us with his shot selection.

It's beyond awful.

I don't care what anyone says, I saw TEAM tonight and it did my heart good. Our young guns got good playing time and we walked out of American Airlines Center with our pride intact. I, for one, don't feel the need to snipe at any of our OWN players right now.

Thank you and make that 2 of us.

I actually thought the Kings executed rather well in crunch time. It was just a shame that they were down by too many points at the time. They were down 8 and managed to cut it down despire Dirk being on fire. I was actually quite proud of their execution and effort tonight. It's games like these that make me wonder how this team's record is so bad when they are capable of so much more...

I'm # 4!

I might even forget all about Kenny's bad 3rd quarter, capped off with a T that loomed large in the end. ;)

Great team effort!

Too bad Ron got hurt. He was never the same after that.

Yes, the majoirty of the guys played well.

Wasn't a lot different tonight in my mind, other then Artest hitting his shots at a crazy clip, which kept the Kings in it....but he was taking bad shots. He was just making them.

But, just calling it like it is.

Kenny Thomas crying like a baby hurt us bad.

Bibby and his awful shot selection hurt us bad.

If that's taking a snipe at them, then, I guess it is.

I'm not much of a moral victory kinda person I guess.

I really don't buy the whole technical foul is what killed us theory that Grant was preaching.

There is so much more to it...If Shareef doesn't brick a wide-open seven foot jumper, if player A hits that extra free throw, if player B hits that layup.

All in all there is no point in bashing anyone, because we all played excellent tonight, and we took a team that has abused us the past few games a took them to the limit...On there hme court no less.

The one thing I can complain about, is the Kings look like Greg Oden frontrunners Vs. New Orleans, yet they do this and instill hope they can turn it around...If you can play with Dallas, you can beat anyone.

Whatever, dude.

Just calling it like it is? What a crock. Sorry, but there hasn't been a lot for Kings fans to take any kind of hope from. Just the notion that the team still cares matters to me. They may not win a lot but as long as they can continue to put forth the effort I'll stand and cheer.

And it's not about a moral victory. It's about being honest. The Kings AREN'T that good right now. What we saw tonight was a team with pride in themselves come out and refuse to allow arguably the best team in the league right now to run them over. I'm gonna celebrate that...

Definitely wasn't the one that killed us. Just loomed large in the end if we like playing what ifs. But yeah, lots of things definitely didn't work for us, and definitely not all the Ts fault. ;)

If it wasn't for the "no call" on on that Artest dunk, and Kenny's stupid T, we would have won that game.

Great effort guys, play like that everynight!!!

And I'm not. What's the big deal? I'm wrong because I don't feel like I should celebrate them putting up a fight with the Mavs?

And to be honest, I don't think they did. I think Artest did, but, he always does IMO. Martin, Corliss and Salmons as well. And, those guys pretty much always do that on a nightly basis. I didn't see some burning desire, team effort from the rest of the guys...which...is no different then any game. I didn't really see it from the Mavs either. (and apperently either did Johnson as he said the energy wasn't there for them).

They aren't children out there.

I don't think they played all that hard. (some did, not all).

I don't think they played smart. Ron and Mike took some awful awful shots. Kenny made some awful choices.

So...I don't see much to cheer about for myself.

You're more then welcome to cheer. I'm not sitting here telling you, you're wrong for doing so. More power to you.

But, I don't see anything to be cheering for...which is fine.

I think we lost because of bonehead plays that should not have happened.

I think it's just unfair to say players didn't play hard.

I'm sure Mike, Cisco, Douby, even Kenny played hard. They might not have played very well but I think players do play hard on a nightly basis.

Just because it doesn't look to some that they're not playing hard, I'm sure they do. I think it's hard for them, especially with their competitive nature, to just slack off.

That's just MHO.

What I appreciated was that, in recent games, two random Kings have played good one-on-one while the rest of the team (who got over 10 minutes PT) stunk.

Tonight wasn't like that. It doesn't make me re-evaluate the season, or change my mind about anything, but it makes me happy. They played well, which is good for today, and the fact that it was a loss is good for tomorrow. I'm fine with that.

You're the one who came into a thread where everyone was up for the first time in a long time. If you don't want to cheer, fine. Don't cheer. But why bring everyone else down?

The thing is every team in every game will have "bonehead plays," otherwise we would have perfect games. How many times does that happen?

I think we lost because Dallas is a better team right now. A myriad of plays could have changed the outcome for either side. Almost everyone played well tonight. We just lost to a better team.

You are correct. You are entitled to your opinion. I just do not happen to agree with you.

They played hard tonight as a TEAM. That is all I ask and they delievered. A win would have been nice, but after the way they have played lately, I am content with this. I hope that THEY are not happy or content with it. I want them to keep pushing as hard as they can. But I will cheer for their heart and effort TOGETHER tonight.

Really???

In the Adelman era it was always "the coach didn't miss the free throws" or "the coach doesn't rebound" so give it a rest.

I think the team played hard and with the way this season has gone I think we need a few moral victories along the way. Now, if they go in and take a dump in Memphis then it's a different story but this team seem to be playing better and with a little more heart. I don't think that has anything to do with coaching and ALOT to do with the attitude of the team.

You and I do not agree often, but I am with you on this. I have to admit, I am not a fan of Muss. I disagree with of lot of things he does, but tonight, he did not hurt us. We can't blame this on him tonight. There is one player that I am a bit peeved at, but I really can't blame him either. Dallas was better, but the Kings played hard tonight. They impressed me. They have not done that very often this season, so I'm happy.

Who am I bringing down?

If people get bothered because I said Bibby takes stupid shots, then, that's their own problem.

He takes bad shots a bit too much.

I didn't know I couldn't state what I feel is my view, along with others who share it.

I'm happy people are happy with the way the Kings played. That's awesome. Doesn't mean I have to swallow my feelings because I feel Bibby took some awful shots that hurt us.

It is a message board afterall. Opinions, right? I didn't know everybody had to be in union with their views on how awesome/crappy they played that night.

And I disagree. Not the end of the world.
