Hall of Famer
got beat by geriatrics.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
On March 17th 2002 Kings survived a close call in Toronto winning 116-113 to improve to decent 47-18 for the season. Kings were trailing the whole game but never quit and executed well sown the stretch. Statistically both teams were pretty even but that night Kings simply had Webber and Raptors didn't. Webber lead Kings with 31/15/6/4, Bibby had 22/3/4, DC had 18/4/6/1, Hedo had 15/8/2/1 and Vlade had 12/7/1/2. Bobby had 11/3/5 off the bench.

Chris Webber had 31 points and 15 rebounds in his return to the lineup as the Sacramento Kings got back on track with a 116-113 victory over the reeling Toronto Raptors. Webber sat out Thursday's loss at New York with a dislocated right index finger but showed no ill effects in 46 minutes, going 8-of-18 from the field and 15-of-18 from the free-throw line.Webber also had six assists, including a breakout pass to former Raptor Doug Christie, who dunked and made a free throw for a 113-109 lead with 25 seconds remaining.

"Chris was terrific," coach Rick Adelman said of his star, who also is nursing a bad ankle. "He got to the line and was a force all game."

"I can't jump as well with my ankle and my hand is hurting," Webber said

"With Peja out, I felt pressure to pick up the slack," Webber said. "This was a big win because it was like a playoff game for them."

"We've been more consistent on this trip," Adelman said. "If we're going to stay where we are, we're going to have to win on the road. I was fearful of these guys, but our guys learned a lesson in New York. We made the plays we needed to to win this game."

"Both teams played hard, but we stepped up our defense down the stretch and made our shots," Bibby said. "If we play as hard as we did in the second half, nobody should beat us."
--------------------------------------------------------------------
After losing the 5th straight game -and the 3rd straight on this trip - against the geriatric allstar team from Miami Kings drop to 28-37 which is 9 games below .500 and if I am not mistaking that is as bad as we have been this season (we were 17-26 at one point). As for current NBA losing streaks Pacers lead with 11, Lakers are getting close with 7 and Kings aren't too far away with 5. Overall Kings are still only 2 games away from the post season but again under the 10 worst teams in the league and this is an opportunity that we shouldn't let go off considering tha losing comes so naturally to us these days.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
I had a chance to go and watch Kings tomorrow night in Orlando but I declined. I just can't get myself to watch a probable abuse that we are in for. I have seen 2 Kings games live. I was taking days off work, spending up to 12 hrs in a car in both directions and it wasn't cheap either. It was well worth it . Kings won both games and I had a pleasure watching Chris, Vlade, Pedja & co. It just wouldn't be the same anymore. Only player that is worth watching is Kevin and he is young and I will get my chance in the future. Also, I might get arrested after I am done abusing the retard of a coach that we currently have. Just not worth it. Also I have been in Orlando many times and I could think about at least 10 things that I would rather do than watching Kings suck.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
17 games left which is about 22 too many if we count the 5 games losing streak. You look at the schedule and You can see that we have 9 at home and 8 on the road and best we can do is 8-9 but we also can lose them all. Highly unlikely but possible. Losing all of them would give us a solid chance to have one of the first 5 picks. Won't happen because that would be something positive and we just can't have that. What will happen is that this season is going to be total waste in which we didn't do anything and we set ourselves to go nowhere in the future too. It is a "Groundhog day" for the Kings and I hope that You all are prepared for another summer where nothing will happen.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
End of the regular season means higher tempo in terms of the amount of games played. Feels like Kings lose at least every other day to me. Imagine how players must feel sitting in a plane having no clue where they are going and who they are going to lose the next night. I am pretty sure that most of them couldn't tell You what was the last game that we won (do You remember ?). It is especially hard on Muss. It is hard for him to keep track of the power point presentations that he used, he has no time to fix slides etc. I heard the in Orlando he might be forced to us the kool aid leftovers from Miami. Beating after beating after beating just destroy the morale of the team and fans and there is no time to recover and take the breath. Everything will eventually end in an apathy.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
We are getting in the stage of the season where You can hear some of the dumbest stuff that players/coaches are saying. There is so much of crap but I will focus on 2 hybrid quotes that I can't stand and also unfortunately, both of them fit to us in some ways.
"we will compete until there is a theoretical chance to make the playoffs". You don't say:rolleyes: Why ? What for ? You sucked all season long and You are setting Yourself to suck the next season too. You need help - the more - the better. Only way to get help is to draft high which You can't if You fight for the 9th spot in Your conference. Just please spare me that crap about "theoretical possibilities"
"We are building momentum for the next season" - my all time worst. What are the chances of preserving momentum from April to November ? Are You even going to remember in November what happened in April ? There are several teams in the NBA that are building on momentum year after year after year like Knicks, Magic, Celtics etc. You build a momentum at the beginning of the season when it matters - not now where that momentum will cost You a spot or two in the draft. As a player - You don't even know whether You will be there next season to "ride" that momentum. You want to help Yourself - play Young kids and lose as much as possible. That will help You. Not some stupid imaginary momentum while other teams with less momentum are drafting supertars. If there ever was a stupidity scale - it would have been broken by now.
------------------------------------------------------------------
Spending a night off in South Florida is much worse than playing a back to back game. The "professionals" are away from their families in a city that never sleeps. I could bet that Heat who played in NJ last night got in bed way before Kings players did. But then again - Heat are playing for something that is real. Kings are much more like a "bunch of wild dogs" unleashed into the Miami night. Sure - You can argue that they can do what they want in their free time and crap like that. Irrelevant really - especially if one is "so committed" and guarantees a PO spot.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Coach's corner tonight sponsored by 401k, Florida retirement communities, and Disney World (after April 19th). Muss is killing us. He won' let us have a good draft pick but he won't make the POs either. He confused himself with his rotations this time. I have a feeling that they drank the kool aid all night long and it run out somewhere in the 2nd half. He tried to pretend that we were in the game but that never really happened. Other than that - he has been superb these days.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
So Kings spread some chear to the senior citizens wearing Miami heat uniforms. Kings came out looking much older than the Heat. We limited heat to 55% from the field and 62% from downtown. Nice to see that the zone is working superb. We didn't have a single block and we barely shoot FTs better than Heat who didn't have Wade and had a game the night before. All in all vintage Kings 06/07. Hope the night in Miami was worth it.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
AWARD TIME

it was hard to give out the TDM award because most Heat players don't qualify for it due to the expiration date on their birth certificates. I gave it to Wright but it wasn't major and also sadly - it wasn't needed.

LW-VC award went to Kevin & Brad

JH - KT award went to Corliss, Salmons and Cisco for absolutely nothing.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Magic are next which is more bad news for the Kings. They are young, tall and rested. They are horribly coached and suck on the perimeter but they need the win badly and they will certainly play hard to get it. If You thought - our front line was abused in Miami - it will get worse for them. Those teams are totally opposite. If You put them together - You get one very good team and bunch of low level euroleague garbage.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mike - Nelson + Arroyo = trouble
Kevin - stay aggressive kid
Brad - horrible
Ron - we might not win a game until he gets arrested again
SAR - solid game and back to basic for SAR. Anoher season ens in April
---------------------------------------------------------------------
rest - mateen
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Muss - might even lose the duel of the 2 worst coaches in the league. Kool aid flavor of the night - Valium
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Orlando has underachieved in my opinion but they also had many injuries and no coaching. Howard will do damage, Darko, if he plays might have a good game too, Arroyo will win TDM. LW=VC award is reserved for the Kings front court. It actually might be booked for seasons to come. At least we get to see Hedo. Magic win.

The magic have been so up and down this season you don't know which team will show up. One moment they could look like the best team in NBA the next, the worst. We will have a great chance of winning this game only if just let Dwight kill us and stop the rest of the team, but from watching us play defence i don't know if we could do that.

I still miss Hedo. There are certain players that I will always think of and smile. He is one of them.

4 team fouls by the Magic already. Kings better be hitting some FT's today.

I was triyng to adjust the brightness of my screan but then I realized - my screan was fine - the herseys on the other hand ...

Considering how poorly we are shooting, it could be worse. Start hitting some shots, guys.

I swear it is the fugly uni's.

:p

I'd throw it in the post to salmons on Jameer every play. Orlando's guards can be posted up easier than most.

Howard isn't going to be stopped on the glass, but if you can encourage the rest of Orlando to take jumpers, you have a chance.

Oh yeah, and crash the offensive glass. orlando gives up a lot of those ,especially when Darko is on the floor.

We missed 6 shots in a row. It does not help that the wrong people are taking the shots.

If I never see Shareef in this game again it'll be too soon.

Just take care of the ball and hit the glass. Orlando stinks at both.
