Kings @ Lakers Game Thread

The question was why is Musselman still the coach?

Because they have to pay him anyway and at this point it might actually be the easiest way to improve our lottery situation.

I love this team but damn...

Today we went from 10th/11th tie for lottery pick, to #9, so we can't say that it's not effective. Bibby even stunk against the Lakers, and I can't remember the last time that happened. That Kool Aid's pretty amazing.

Maybe, it still depends on how those ping pong balls drop. That is what scares me. We can stink as much as we do and still end up with pick #13.

Who was the hero who was doomed to push a rock uphill all during the day only to have his liver torn out and eaten? And it happened every single day...

That might not fit but it's what I immediately thought of...

Sisyphus

Prometheus

2 different people actually

Do you mean Sisyphus?

At least we're one game closer to improving our lottery standing.
We're be in good standing I think to get Hibbert or Jianlian or maybe Spencer Hawes.

I think you are mixing Sisyphus who was compelled to push the rock only to have it fall from his grasp and roll downhill as he reached the top as punishment for considering himself a peer of the gods and Prometheus who was chained to a rock and had his liver picked at by an eagle as punishment for giving fire to man.

I only know about Sisyphus because one of my intramural softball teams in college was called the Sisyphean Treadmills.

eta: beaten to it

OK. The magic number is 6

Any combination of Kings losses and Clippers wins that adds up to 6 will mean the end of mathematical possibilities for Kings to make it to post season

And finally the true meaning of the ugly bleeping giant 6 is revealed. Who wudda thunk it...

And, in a further prediction of what will be, I'm going to boldly predict the Kings will end up with the #6 pick in the 2007 draft.

:p

Let's see:

1. Punished for thinking he was a peer of the gods. That fits, kinda...

2. Punished for giving fire to man. Hrm. How about punished for driving man (in this case fans) to grab torches and march on the castle?

;)

Do all these sixes point towards Joe and Gavin selling their souls to the devil or Eric Musselman being the devil himself??

sweet Jesus, you mean we still have 6 more games of suffering??

well - if everything goes as I think it will - it might take a while. I just looked at both schedules and the best case scenario is April 9th but don't count on it. It will take longer than that

I have a lot of respect for Joe and Gavin. They brought this franchise into the modern era. Their judgment might not be perfect but I was a fan when they didn't own the team and they've done a lot for the franchise... I think your signature is totally inappropriate, BTW, unless your name is Marcos Breton...

Having said that and putting my soap box away, I think you're totally missing the point. My comments were merely an attempt to find a way to laugh through my tears.

I HATE seeing my beloved Kings go through this. It tears me apart because I know the frustration the players are feeling. I know the frustration the people who work for MSE are feeling.

I've been fed up with the apparent lack of basketball acumen displayed by the marketing division of MSE for quite some time. My comments about the giant 6 are a continuation of comments originally made in that vein...

man...I wish we could just fast-forward like a month...that would be so much less painful.

I was just joking, apparently a bad attempt :(
