Kings keeping Barnes (Knock on wood)

Barnes no longer has to shoulder just a large defensive load anymore which should help tremendously with what was a waning offensive output. He can play a more natural position as well. Now Moe can back him up at 3 or 4 too.

HB is as non-complaining as pro ballers get, but he must have been more low-key frustrated than anyone this season. He's certainly not gonna shoot 4-5 from distance every night, even on open shots, but the hi-BBIQ, off-ball game has been there forever. He just hasn't had the teammates to make it work. Last night he got more in-rhythm open looks off passes - at the rim and above the 3-pt line - than I can remember him ever getting in Sacramento. I CAN remember him - many times! - flashing open and not even getting a look from a teammate, much less actually getting the ball. (That teammate has often been Fox, btw.)

And it wasn't just Sabonis, by any means. Holiday and Lamb had 9 assists between them.

well i mean it depends on the offer i guess. he looked great last night when the shots were falling. if Holidays shots fall last night we are talking about him today.

Guy's shooting 42% on 3's on the year on volume. That's 16th-best in the league - 5th among guys classified as 3's; would be 3rd among guys classified as 4's. And it ain't like he hasn't been among the league's most efficient shooters for years. He also added 8 boards, 3 assists, played good D, and helped get guys in foul trouble.

It always depends on the offer, but really hard to imagine a feasible trade that would bring back a better player than HB for this team.
