[Game] Kings @ Jazz Game Thread 03-05-2011

40 minutes for Cousins. That's a lot of time to haul that big butt up and down the court. This is his best game as far as I'm concerned.

I don't mean statistically but as far as his impact on the game.

Eh. Not much to say. Good effort, almost had it .. a few mental errors, a few physical errors. I'll take a hard overtime loss on the road though. Just didnt have enough to finish the job.

Offense kind of went down the drain in OT.

Fun game to watch. Thornton was super clutch but stupid decisions, same ol same ol Kings. PS; I thought Dalembert was supposed to be one of our "better" defenders? Jefferson owned him.

Actually Al Jefferson shouldve gotten fouled out on that charge on thompson. But the refs just cant have the kings getting their way in a close game like this right? I dont blame cousins. He's playing past his regular season and hes also playing 44 minutes. And to top that off he had a phenomenal game once again. :)

Yeah that no-call on the charge was probably the game. Kinda felt like we were forcing it to DMC a bit too much in OT, but he was having a good game.

i agree and cousins was visibly exhausted. Also i love how Cisco never got the ball again after his three. I guess its true that Westpail is allergic to things that work.

I think part of us forcing it to Cousins might have been our ploy to try to get big Al fouled out. It almost worked but he turned out to be a real key for them.

Oh well, a lot of guts and determination showed by the team but still making bonehead decisions at the worst possible time though.

Great shot by Thronton to send it into OT.

Despite all of that, its plain as daylight that this team has a bright future. That late game execution will come with a bit more experience and hopefully a couple of quality, veteran free agent that we will sign for next season.

As much as I like seeing Thornton play well, part of me thinks that he just might be pricing himself out of our reach! I would love to keep him on a reasonable contract but with his play recently, there is bound to be a team that will drop a Ben Gordon type contract on him!

Our saving grace is that the CBA might not have those kinds of contracts, and there are few teams with the kind of money we would have to throw around. He's not a FA this year, correct?

He makes $762,000 a year this year. Nobody is going to offer so much we can't afford to match it. Get a grip. I totally agree that the CBA has to be a little more friendly to teams in middle to small markets. If it doesm't, this city will ever see another pro basketball team in the next decade or so. I actually think that after this debacle, basketball is dead in the city.

He's a FA according to Hoops Hype. We have the most money to spend even under the present CBA.

i was just thinking that evans being out for 3 weeks was working out in our favor. nice to see what thornton can do. it seems he can hold his own at the 2 guard and we've been pretty competitive when he has a good amount of playing time. but now that u mention this, things seem to make sense. when things seem to look bright for the kings...theres always something that rains on our parade
