First and foremost, I hope everyone at Arco will give Peja Stojakovic the welcome he more than earned. I mentioned it in another thread, but I'll say it here, too. There were times when I - among a lot of others - was very critical of Peja. That doesn't change the gratitude I feel for him for all he did do for our franchise. His sweet threes from so far beyond the arc they were actually in a different zip code were truly magic. Watching the joy and camraderie between him and Vlade warmed my heart. Seeing him walk on the court with Mike, Doug, Chris and Vlade gave me goosebumps - and it did just now as I was writing this. Predrag Stojakovic helped the Sacramento Kings climb out of the cellar and into the stratosphere. I KNOW in my heart our Arco crowd will welcome him back with a true exhibition of ARCO THUNDER!!!
Now, about the game. It'll be a little different with Bibby out and Miller unknown at this time. But this is what pre-season should be all about. Sure, winning would be sweet but making sure the team hopefuls get a few more chances to show their worth to Musselman, Petrie, et al is the important thing here.
I'm fighting a nasty cold, which I suspect has been lingering around just waiting for a moment of weakness on my part to attack full bore. I've taken cold pills, however, so I shall overcome!!!
I'm drinking coffee right now but will probably switch to green tea before much longer. I have my various Kings icons and talismans all in their proper locations and I'm ready to go.
