I wonder how the players felt in the huddle...

Alright guys we're down 4 with no timeouts left and 11 seconds to go. So we're going to go for two. Let's go!

"Hey uh... coach what's the play?"

"Two pointer Mike! Come on get with the program!"

"Well uh... Aren't we gonna run some kind of play?"

"Geez I dunno, give it to Brad or something"

We had a small chance anyways, but at least lets go with the one that's mathematically correct...

Spot on...

And yet, for some reason, I'm not even mad any more. It's to the point where I simply do not expect Musselman to come up with a game plan that will get the job done. And, yes... I blame the coach.

BTW another game where the Kings managed to shoot lower than Bibby's season average FG %! Woot! I know Kt really wanted it tonight but the LWVC award has to go to Reef... Way to go guys...

Very disappointing loss. I'm loving Muss's substitutions. Bring in the 6'7" Corliss to guard 7'0" Chandler. Man is a freakin genious.

The one thing I won't fault Muss for is bringing in Corliss. Reef and KT were ABSOLUTELY dreadful... In fact Corliss should have came in earlier the Kings needed his scoring in a bad way.... BTW once the last few minutes of the fourth come around here's what the Kings remind me off

Just replayed that shot on Tivo and, watching it frame by frame :D , it was clear that the shot wasn't off in time as the ball was right above his head but I don't really understand why the backboards didn't have the bright red lights go on when the shot clock went off.

It's pretty clear that we are so weak in the middle it is just painful to watch. We won't win on a consistent basis unless we get some defense and rebounding in that spot.....Miller just sucks.

I thought Corliss and Cisco played well. I think Muss made a mistake in pulling those guys out in crunch time. They could have won it for us.

Just in. Pictures of Bibby's shot selection.

lol

Somebody needs to inform Bibby 30 footers = No good and inform Ron that playing 1 on 4 doesn't usally come out with you on top.

School yard ball.

I was at the game tonight with 2 friends. One knos his stuff, the other is only a novice. The guy who knows Basketball was pulling for the hornets. The other could have cared less. However, it AMAZED at the insight that she had. The following were some of her quotes.

1. Why does #93 never pass the ball?
2. Does your coach ever call any plays?
3. Is he a first time coach?
4. Why does #9 always pout?
5. Why does the coach change players that are playing well?
6. The "blue" team looks like they like each other and play together. Are all the players on your team new? They don't look like they have played together for long.

MY FAVORITE

What does your coach say at halftime? They look more lost now than before.

I had a hard time answering her questions. After seeing them live for the first time this season, I came to a few conclusions. They DO NOT play as a team. Way too much "i'll do it myself." There was never any flow to what they were doing. I also do not believe they respect the coach very much. I was sitting across from their bench and noticed a few things that worried me along those lines both when we were leading as well as losing.

That's funny my brother mentioned many of the same things as you did. It's a sad day when people that don't know much about basketball or the Kings can see the blatant problems with the team.

1: He's the only player who deserves to shoot the ball a lot because he's the only guy who constantly brings it...At least he didnt hoist 19 shots like Mike.

2: Simple...Yes, they all just suck.

4: He's Kenny Thomas.

5: Did anyone actually play well tonight?

I'm not sure any longer that Musselman himself says anything. Way too many times I've seen coaches go iso on players during time outs and I'm beginning to suspect that may happen at half-time, too.

I think your friend has a lot more insight than she realizes, probably because her opinion isn't influenced by knowing which players are supposed to be the leaders, etc. And if even a novice can recognize those kinds of problems, it certainly doesn't say very much about our team chemistry or identity or anything else good...

Although I tend to think Musselman does say stuff at halftime (even if it's just "hibbidy dibbity jibbity!"), Mike Bibby's postgame interview after I think it was the Nets game the other night kinda alarmed me. It was the big play where Mike missed the jumper from the top of the key and got his own board and drilled the next shot. He was asked what the play was on that shot and responded that he really didn't even know as he couldn't hear coach.

I just remember thinking to myself that Musselman probably didn't even set up a play... and even if he did, Mike Bibby the team's PG wasn't really paying attention and just ended up doing his own thing anyways!

Either way, not a good sign. ;)

Actually, there were a couple times where Bibby and Artest looked upset with Muss. THIS IS JUST MY EVALUATION OF WHAT I SAW. I could be WAY off, but they both looked aggravated with him.

I have come to the point where I want one of our bigs to be traded just to see JWill get at least 2 minutes.

Yeah, there was absolutely no reason not to play Williams against the Hornets with their athletism. Sit K9s butt down on the bench and start Williams! This was the perfect game for the young guy to start. SAR and K9 just plain suck. SAR has his moments, but everyone knows what his moves are before he knows what he wants to do! :p

I think the Hornets were just mad we wore our "beutiful" gold jerseys in their house causing them to wear their road jerseys. Why did we chose to wear the gold jerseys against a team that is yellow/teal at their home, the city is only starting to come back from the Katrina that devasted it, and the team had to scramble to get their road jerseys out of the hamper and washed in time to wear?!? :p

Justin Williams is NOT ready to start in the NBA. Having said that, I do think he should have had some minutes last night. I can no longer even pretend to understand what "plan" Musselman has, if any...

I think chelle's comments above are pretty telling.
