Was Doc’s assistant in LA and a former Kings assistant long ago.

between Gentry and Rex, the Kings are establishing a really good staff to probably replace Luke midseason.
The problem is at what cost? Should it be necessary it means **** hit the fan so that means you've pretty much cemented all the ill will leftover from last season and given yourself a wasted season. There are no fresh starts here sans blowup since they didn't utilize common sense even after feeling the heat once before with Karl/Cuz. Vivek keeps on sticking people with knives behind the head guy in charge. This isn't silicon valley Vivek. Be too early to make a move, not too late.

Give it time, Vivek is obviously a new owner and it's no easy task. But he surely had spent long enough trying a few different methods that didn't pan out. So hopefully, it'll slowly but surely get better...

The issue is it looks like he might be trending back towards what we saw at the start, which yes, was waaay worse.

What gives you the indication of that? Him bringing his 20 year old son in to help make basketball operations type of decisions?
While his son doesn’t have basketball expertise, let’s not make it sound like he brought on some college kid to make decision. His son is 36 yo graduated from Columbia and is hedgefund managing partner

I would argue that his mathematics degree is probably his most impressive variable. People who major in math, they just see the world differently. Math is like poetry to them.

Columbia is Columbia. Impressive. The hedgefund part, not quite as impressive, because it's easy to become a (or the) managing director one when your family provides tens of millions in seed money.

Truth is his son might be more knowledgeable than some of the people Viveks hired, which is scarier in multiple ways. haha. No, it's the fact that on the surface he's once again constructing an organization with no apparent real structure and a ton of cooks in the kitchen. And the way the Vlade/Dumars thing ended up was exactly how one would expect after seeing those first few years of Viveks ownership so that absolutely earns Vivek no favors when it comes to the next incarnation of a front office. Was it simply a brief departure when Vivek finally put someone in charge and let them roll? Wrong or right, in the end, NBA teams never work when you have your front office not only on different pages but reading different books and people with more power hanging over them. Vlade was at the very least leading the charge so the muck was shelved during that time. Filling your coaches backup seats with your own safety nets also just starts thing off on a sour note and that's beside the fact that Walton is already souring with the players while being a holdover coach anyway. I guess blindly throwing darts at a dart board eventually has to result in a bullseye right? We shall see.

Cause and effect >>>> math in pro sports. In pro sports the math is merely the result of a combination of psychology, physiology, and in Kings fans case a high degree of proctology.
