I like this deal a lot as a realistic scenario.

it could work :D haslem would work along side a dominant big man like yao. he's a perfect role player to help grab some boards and make a few shots.

yao
haslem
battier
mcgrady
james

pretty solid line up

oneal
thomas
artest
wade
head

not bad for them either

miller
SAR
garcia
martin
price/douby

we'd be on the right track if we could steal wright from the heat in this trade.

i like the fact that we're getting to more picks in the draft and a expiring and not to mention dumping KT very good scenario!

There is no way the Rockets would do this. They need a big man, but come on. Sura, Head and the 26th? For Haslem? Haslem is a good role player, but that's overpaying.

Whoa...I proposed this on the Houston board and they went nuts in excitement...Haslem's no super star, but he's a VERY solid starting role player at the PF...you are easily overrating those assets..Sura=expiring(a small one at that), Head is nice but expendable, #26 is almost a 2nd round pick...that for a starting PF that would fit Rick's style of play beautifully? This is a no-brainer for Houston...in fact many Houston fans said they'd throw in a future first to get that deal done if Sacto or Miami were shaky on it.

You kidding me? The Rockets would do this.

Sura is an expiring contract, Head is a good 3 point shooter but is an undersized 2 guard with no handles and the 26th won't get us a power forward.

Whoa, either I'm overestimating Head and the 26th or underrating Haslem!
Rockets fans must be really desperate for a PF, although Haslem would be a very good fit beside Yao. Maybe I was wrong then! But first impressions for me was that Rockets were giving up too much. Either way, Houston are going to have a very good team next year.

There are rumors of Head going to LAL for Brian Cook...I think you're overestimating Luther and the #26 is only 4 picks away from being a 2nd rounder. Udonis is a MUCHHHHHHHHHHHH better player than Brian Cook.

That's something I definetly agree with. Cook is not what the Rockets need to be putting at PF IMO, and Haslem would be a great fit. He seems to be a perfect role player.

this is exactly what the rockets need. a solid role player in the 4 spot. they have plenty of scorers at the other positions. they're giving up a late 1st rounder, luther head who is a SG in a PG body and a small expiring for a role playing pf that has championship experience. You can find undersized SG's at the bottom of the draft and in the second round. This is peanuts in terms of what they are giving up.. that is.. if they are serious about making a championship run.
