[Game] Kings @ Grizzlies - Friday, Nov. 16 - 5:00 PM PT

Poor game on so many fronts.

Why Joerger kept Bjelica on Jackson at the beginning of the game to make him an All Star I'll never figure out.

Hield had concrete hands and an absent brain in this one.

Fox with his highest TO total of the year.

WCS left not much of an impression at all.

The Kings didn't get the ball once to a streaking big in this game. That's ridiculous when you have Gasol on the floor.

The Kings did play pretty good on defense in this game, especially Fox, but the offensive ineptness was too much to overcome.

As it should, if our rookie continues to look like this in comparison to his peers

You’d be crying if JJJ had his averages on the Kings. Even with a game like this he’s an 11-6 player on a two big team. That’s good for a rookie but he’s had game of 4 points and low rebounds as well.

You’ll just take any oppurtunity to jab Bagley it’s pretty much replaced your usual in general glass half empty gimmick to where it’s every good game another rookie has means Bagley was a waste

Frustrating loss, but I think we can take some solace that we left a TON in the tank in this one. Fox played decently well, Williams gave a good spark off the bench, but no one else showed up with their best game. Despite all that we still had a chance to win this one with a couple stops at the end of the game.

Need Bjelly to figure it out. Going on a 5-6 game stretch now where he's been a significantly different player than he was to start the year and been a non-factor most nights. I'd think about letting Bagley get the run with the starters and work on developing him with the core if Bjelly isn't going to perform.

We are going to need to find a groove in the half court offense and step up our communication on the defense side. All in all great game for the young kings to learn from

There was a lot of useless motion in this one. The Kings went away from simple pick and roll for a few stretches and once the Kings got down on that one run they had to climb back and couldn't get the job done. It's becoming a bit of a trend the last few losses. Admirable play by Shump and Williams but I'll take the bet against the Kings catching fire with them as your two wing combo all day, any day, and twice on Sunday. Tricking teams with an energetic finish at the end of a game the other team just wants to wind down isn't a long term fix.

I'm in total agreement with Reynolds - Marvin needs more time on the floor.

Joerger needs to make a move and start him or just get him more minutes because Bjelica is showing diminishing returns. If Joerger wanted Bjelica to show him why he should start, or get some pretty big minutes, Bjelica just failed the test.

Also another good note that we actually did fight back late in the 4th quarter to make this a game. This is for sure an 18 point loss last season. One great thing about this team is we're never seemingly out of any game, which is a great start to turn this around into a playoff team.

Any opportunity? The 2 pick has been bad for a stretch of games and not giving the fan base a comfortable feeling about his future. I think you’d have to be pretty half glass full to not think of it as an issue.

He needs to do better

If I was half glass empty, Fox is a star, Buddy/Bogdan are money. We need more now

I don’t feel anybody played exceptionally well except Bogdanovic...and even he made a couple silly dribble drives into traffic and like Buddy missed his most easy looks. The wide open practice three is becoming one of those things. Especially for Buddy, he’ll go on one of his runs and then we get him in the corner for a wide open dagger and brick

Fox obviously did what we’re coming to expect but the turnovers were pretty much the story of the game.

The below average performances from Buddy and Willie were big and the way above average performance for JJJ and then the above average performances from pretty much every player off their bench.

Kings were actually +2 on the boards. We
Matched their offensive rebounds but I’m going to guess they converted their O-boards into more points

It's not an issue, and I'm a glass half empty kind of guy. It's time to play Bagley many more minutes and work through his mistakes.

As it stands Bagley has been the most "disappointing" of the Top 5 draft picks so far. His stats have been similar to Jackson but he's been trending downward and Jackson is the significantly rawer rookie anyway.

Bjelica stretches the floor for Fox. Teams have adjusted to his playmaking, but he still draws attention.
I'm fine with Bagley's minutes, and it should keep him fresh till the spring.

I'm starting to wonder if it's the chicken or the egg. There is a direct tie between his games and the Kings losses but one very interesting stat is the number of shot attempts Bjelica takes in losses vs. wins. Tonight he was right in that 7 range for losses. In wins he's closer to 11. Everything was near his averages in wins tonight. Maybe the Kings should start looking for betters shots for him. I'd like to see him get more corner 3's. The Kings rarely seem to take those shots and their the highest percentage looks from 3. As a team the Kings are mostly below league average in attempts from either short corner.

He killed the Kings at the beginning of this game with his porous defense. Those points he gave up at the beginning are worth just as much as those points at the end.
