For the sixth time this season the Kings are facing that impenetrable "4 games over .500" barrier and hoping to push it to 5. Can they do it this time on the road against a tough Memphis squad? The last time we faced them Desmond Bane dropped 31 on us including 6 for 8 on threes but he's currently shooting 18% from deep over his last 5 games (6 for 32) -- it would be great for us to extend his slump. Since that last game on October 27th, the Grizzlies have gone 18-12 and the Kings have gone 19-11 so despite a small difference in the standings, this looks like an even matchup.

Ultimately though, this is just one game. We make a habit out of overreacting around here not just after games but in the middle of them when our opponent goes on a little run and the game is "basically over" with 15+ minutes left on the clock. I just hope it's not lost on anyone that the Kings have started 2023 in first place in the Pacific Division. I don't know when that happened last but I figure it must be over a decade. The job is not done, but this is as good a time as any to appreciate that the Kings are a winning team again and keep the good vibes flowing!

Duece and Mo were saying the league is better with a villain and they identified the Grizz as that team. They chirp a lot and are a bit dirty but the crash landings are what gets me

For me it's mostly about the extra step Ja is allowed to take and the free pass on palming and traveling violations. If they kept him honest by calling the most egregious violations he would learn to adapt and tighten up his handle but they don't, it's obvious that they don't, and that makes him a hard guy for me to appreciate.

Bane being out is a huge sigh of relief for this one

GREAT post!! If we guard the 3 even a smidge better than we have been, i like our chances against anyone. Memphis ain’t unbeatable

I think we have a good chance if the game doesn't go full Refsketball.

But we all know it'll go full Refsketball with that flailer Ja spazzing out in the paint all night.
Hopefully Fox and Sabonis get some calls and we hit our freethrows tonight.

I am worried.. We lost to Memphis at home 125-110 in which we were 0-4 after the game..

Then as a part of our winning streak we went into Memphis and beat them 113-109..

We have the talent to win, and it's an evening game which is always good. I will say the Kings come out flat like they did with Washington, and Charlotte and we will not recover. The Griz will jump out to an early lead of 10 or so at 35-25 after the first quarter and we will wittle it down to 5 and Griz will then take it back up to 15. It will be one of those games where we just can't get that lead even though we get close a few times. Then in the 4th the Griz turn it on and beat us by 15 or so 120 - 105..

If the Kings win it will be a back and forth affair and we will pull it out in the end 112-109 or something close to that. GO KINGS!

Mr. Monk is questionable for tonight, listed as day-to-day with right wrist soreness. Hopefully, nothing serious. We will get an update closer to game time. Everyone else for the Kings is available.

Who takes Monks minutes tonight? TD? Hopefully we see the return of TNT-TD if that’s the case.
It looks like he will play, after all. I would certainly like to see Terence Davis return to the court for a few minutes, though. He can get hot in a hurry.
