---------------------------------------

ATL Gets: 2025 POR 2nd
ATL Gives: Agrees to allow the 2025 SAC 1st to become unprotected
Why for ATL? The Hawks are compensated with a likely early 2nd for allowing the deal to be facilitated which needs the SAC 2025 1st to be unprotected (allowing the Kings to trade 2027, 2029, and 2031 1sts)

---------------------------------------

BKN Gets: Keegan Murray, Sasha Vezenkov, Chris Duarte, 2028 SAC 1st Pick Swap, & 2030 SAC 1st Pick Swap
BKN Gives: Mikal Bridges
Why for BKN? The Nets move Bridges for a blue chip prospect who could still reach (or even surpass) Bridges level of production while opening up even more cap space for the 2025 offseason (since Murray will still be on his rookie deal) giving them a chance at signing 2 max FAs that offseason to pair with Murray, Johnson, & a resigned Claxton (assuming they look to move DFS for future assets). They also get some distant pick swaps that could be valuable depending on how the Kings shake out and/or how BKN's 2025 offseason goes.

PG - Schroder
SG - Thomas / Duarte
SF - Murray / Johnson / Whitehead / Bates-Diop
PF - Finney-Smith / Vezenkov / Wilson
C - Claxton* / Simmons / Sharpe / Clowney
* resigned

---------------------------------------

SAC Gets: Mikal Bridges & Lauri Markkanen
SAC Gives: Kevin Huerter, Keegan Murray, Sasha Vezenkov, Chris Duarte, #13, 2025 POR 2nd, 2027 SAC 1st (Unprotected), 2028 SAC 1st Pick Swap, 2029 SAC 1st (Unprotected), 2030 SAC 1st Pick Swap, & 2031 SAC 1st (Unprotected)
Why for Kings? The Kings go all in and bring aboard two quality players that are not only on the same timeline as their core but also complement them very well. With this amount of draft capital going out, there would have to be an understanding/agreement that Markkanen would extend with the Kings.

PG - Fox / Mitchell
SG - Ellis / Monk* / Jones
SF - Bridges / Barnes
PF - Markkanen / Lyles
C - Sabonis
* resigned

---------------------------------------

UTA Gets: Kevin Huerter, #13, 2027 SAC 1st (Unprotected), 2029 SAC 1st (Unprotected), & 2031 SAC 1st (Unprotected)
UTA Gives: Lauri Markkanen
Why for UTA? The Jazz cash in on the 27 year old Markkanen and move into a hard rebuild with hopes of landing a top pick in the loaded 2025 draft. In exchange for Markkanen, they get a lottery pick and 3 unprotected 1st to add to their asset pool.

PG - Sexton / Clarkson
SG - George
SF - Huerter / Sensabaugh / Bazley
PF - Hendricks / Collins/ Lofton
C - Kessler / Yurtseven

I think Murray could get to Bridge's production (or even surpass it one day) so you could do this deal without BKN involved and just keep Murray slotted in at SF.

However, there is a real possibility that Murray doesn't become as good as Bridges. As of now, I think it's fair to say that Bridges is a better scorer, ball handler, passer, and gets to the line at a better rate. I think it's also fair to say that he's a better defender than Murray and even made the 1st team All-Defensive team (and was runner up as Defensive Player of the Year that season). I'd expect him to be (at the very least) an immediate improvement from Murray and potentially a long term improvement (depending on where Murray tops out).

With Markkanen & Sabonis starting at PF & C, I think it'll be really important for us to find a really good defensive C to back up Sabonis, but you at least have the perimeter locked down with Bridges, Ellis, and an engaged Fox.

Thats pretty bold and I can’t say I don’t like that lineup , but seems it would cost an unattainable fortune.

Apologies in advance, but please can people not make definitive statements in their titles? I was eager to find out how the Kings just Go All In (w/ ATL, BKN, & UTA).

Keegan will be better than Mikael Bridges.

I’m not trading Keegan in any scenario unless we get a superstar.

You get 2 Allstars (in there primes) that's a obvious yes if you can get it regardless how good you think Murray will be this is one of the best trades of all-time assuming health. Can the Kings afford to keep all 4 All Stars but is a different question. Lauri alone I would do it as well (obviously trade would be different).

Can't see Utah doing it Huerter/picks is fairly trash unless they want nothing to do with Lauri.

Next year is the test. If Murray doesn't come in with the same guard skills? Ain't happening. Not at 24 and 3 seasons in. Keegan does have advantages though considering he's bigger and stronger. Offensively though without the handling you're just a shooter.

The return of Markkanen and Bridges for what you believe we would have to give up would make me want to stay as far away from this deal as humanly possible. Unless, of course, that is if the asking price can go down some...

To be fair, this part of the forum isn’t really used to break news that the Kings made a trade. It’s more used to discuss possibilities (at least that’s been my feel of it). Regardless…noted!

There’s certainly a path for that to happen but we shouldn’t deny that Bridges is better now. There’s a real possibility that Murray never eclipses Bridges. For our sake, I hope it happens.

Having said that, doing just the Markkanen part of the deal gives us a similar team that may have a higher ceiling (since Murray has a chance at developing into a better player than Bridges) but could also have a lower ceiling (if he falls short).

Perhaps that is how Ainge feels but Jazz fans seem to think the value coming back is good for Lauri.

Yeah it’s not a forgone conclusion that Murray will become a better player than Bridges. I said it up top, but Bridges is a better scorer, passer, ball handler, defender, and gets to the line at a better rate. That’s a lot of things for Murray to catch Bridges on. That’s not to say he can’t surpass him but it’s not a sure thing.

It might cause a stir, but one area where I do think Murray could be better, even now, is on defense. Murray having that strength and decent lateral movement has served him well. Bridges has been attentive and good, but is a little slow and relies on recovery far too much. Murray can get the same scoring output you see out of Bridges but the thing is Bridges doesn't need a system to do it. Murray has shown moments of moves off the dribble, but stars do it every night, and are threats to do it on every play.
