Kings fans!! Make a concerted effort to attend games this year!

I've been visiting this forum for a long time, and have finally decided to officially join in the fun! :) I must share that I am a passionate Kings fan as I've been following them for a number of years. I also like how this forum is moderated, thus my decision to finally share my thoughts over here.

For those who weren't able to be at the game last night, I must share that it was AWESOME!! Just being there was so fun, and the crowd was totally into it. One thing that really stood out to me was how well these particular guys seem to relate to one another. There's something very special going on here. Maybe the winning part has a lot to do with it, but I haven't witnessed this kind of camaraderie with a Kings team since the Vlade (& company) days.

Something is definitely happening, and I felt it last night. The thunder is coming back to ARCO!!!! Bring back the THUNDER!!!! GO KINGS!!!!

Nice 1st post Arco Thunder. Welcome to KingsFans.com!!

I was at the game, as well, and I had a blast. The excitement was definitely in the air. Win or lose, these guys are just flat out fun to watch....especially in person.

Not only was I there on Friday with my Rockets-fan friend, but just now my Bulls-fan friend hit me up to go on Tuesday! (Hopefully the latter will leave ARCO just as dejected as the former...) Two games in a season is the most I've ever done, much less two in a row, so I feel like I'm doing my part! It helps to have friends who have migrated from all over the country, obviously.

Friday was my first game this year, and I have to say that I sat in a really good seat (pretty close to the court). I don't know how often I will be able to do that this year, but I know that you can have a lot of fun no matter where you're sitting.

Welcome to KF! I love your choice of a user name. Seems fitting we get ARCO THUNDER here to go with the resurgence of ARCO THUNDER in the arena!

I agree with the feeling that there's something special going on... And I intend to fully enjoy every single moment.

I LOVE THIS TEAM!!!

Again...welcome to the premiere Kings community on the Internet. Grab a chair, buckle up and hold on. I think we're in for an E ticket ride!

:D

I am going to get a couple guys from work to go to a game soon. Have to pick one that works from a child-care point of view for a couple of us, but we are going.

Awwww...thanks, VF21. I've been a fan of yours for a long time..:D

I'm just excited to talk KINGS basketball!! I'm ready for this sweet E ticket ride as it's been a long time coming...:) I think it's going to be a GREAT YEAR!!! GO KINGS!!!!!!

I have been to 3 home games so far and it is pretty easy for me to get a 10 buck ticket for myself,(and my buddies take care of themselves :)) but I don't have a bunch of kids that I would have to pay for too so I can see how that could get expensive. Maybe they should make some special cost kids pricing for you guys.

I have had a blast at the last 3 home games and have seen more and more people show up each time. This is great to see except that more people makes it harder to move down in seating because people are actually showing up.:)

Something that I noticed last game was that some people were actually getting upset when we would stand up and cheer for a great play like an alley-oop dunk. I had someone tell my girl not to stand up and was very rude to her, and another person told me not to clap above my head! We had a good time anyway and another person next to use said offered us some tickets any time he can't go because he would rather see passionate fans there than give them out randomly.

Great to see more people come out to the game I guess maybe some people are just wet blankets and don't like to cheer, or were Rockets fans.

Do you guys think I'm weird for preferring to watch important Kings games at home on my TV?

I love going to ARCO when the Kings play teams that aren't very good or important, but when it comes to the Lakers, or some other rivalry/contender, i love to kick back at home in front of my big screen.

Many of my friends are like "WTF D00D", but I think the TV coverage gives you more of a perspective to the game than actually being there.

However, I already went to one game this season, and plan on attending many more! Go

I won't go to Laker games because of some bad experiences I've had in the past regarding totally unruly, rude and ignornant Laker fans. It's just not worth the hassle to me.

As far as the other games go, perspective be damned. There is nothing like being part of Arco Thunder. (I always set my DVR so I can watch the game, win or lose, as soon as I get back home anyway).

Call me anything you want, but I am not really excited about the Kings season.. I am excited for the College season though.. GO Memphis! Go UNR!

I know you're excited now, ain't ya guy ;)

VF, I can understand about not going to Laker games. Their fans are so ignorant and arrogant, like THEY are actually down on the court winning championships. And most of them actually know very little about basketball and would be a complete embarassment if they were to actually lace them up. I can't stand those guys and am liable to tell them so.

Oh, don't get me wrong. I am by no means painting all Laker fans with the same brush. I have attended Kings games with a certain Laker fan and had a great time as she loves the game as much as I do. It's just that Laker fans coming to Arco to attend Laker games seem to tend to bring out the worst in each other. And the "gangs" of them leaving Arco just isn't something I like to have to deal with...

:)

I agree about the laker fans thing. What is inherent in their DNA that makes them such jerks in general? Example.....

I love playing paintball. The other day I was hit multiple time on different occasions (one in the neck) by the same guy. Everytime the game would end he would make a point to walk up to me and say "Hey man, I've been gunning for you. I hate your shirt."

I had a purple Kings shirt on with the Kings logo proudly emblazoned on the front. He said he absolutely hates the Kings and that Kevin Martin is a joke.

I asked him if he was a Laker fan. He said "Born and bred.....screw the Kings."

I would love to be at a Kings/Lakers game but am not sure if I have it in me. :(

Whats sad is I assumed he was a Laker fan and I was right.

I got tickets to the 25th vs. the Knicks. Been a while since I've been to Arco, looking forward to it.

That's great, pkx! I'm glad you are going to get to a game while you are in SacTown for the holiday. :)

My next game is Nov 29th.

Are you saying that you like to watch repeats of Kings games? Now THATS commitment :D

I strongly suspect the anger and hatred is very simple... Some Laker fans know deep in their hearts they should not have won the 2002 WCF. Their resentment is a result of that knowledge. Knowing you didn't win something as much as someone else had it taken from them can cause a lot of unresolved guilt...and I hope it eats him alive.

;)

you know where to aim next time with that paintball gun next time right? Just to stop the expanding of them..

contemplating the game against Chicago tomorrow... Maybe I'll grab some 10$ tickets, I know there are some left.

We just bought our christmas present: two lower level tickets to the Laker game Dec 26. Kids/grandkids this year for Christmas visit son-in-law's parents in New Mexico so why not? Nice drive up through the Tule fog and all. :D

Talk to any friends you know who have season tix. Kings just offered 2 free tickets (per season ticket holder seat) to any of the next 4 home games to give away to friends.

My season ticket holder rep said the phones have been ringing all day for these and that tickets are getting scooped up. Should hopefully fill the arena a little more.

For those going to games, Donte Greene just sent out this tweet:

just finish pactice. ALL KINGS FANS RETWEET THIS. BRING ALL COW BELLS 2 DA GAME!!! WE BAC!!!

and then:

COW BELLS!!!!! dont forget we need yall support!!!! make some noise 6th men!!!!

I want tickets for the 26th also. Where do you guys think the best place to get them would be?

Go to StubHub.com, find basketball, then Sacramento Kings. They had some 100+ tickets from $30 nosebleed down to $2,500 front row. Got mine there. They have upped their fee however, for this game I suspect.
