KINGS EXERCISE OPTIONS AND EXTEND CONTRACTS OF ASSISTANT COACHES THROUGH 2005-2006 SEASON

SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- The Sacramento Kings today exercised the options on the contracts of Kings Assistant Coaches Elston Turner and T.R. Dunn and extended the contracts of Assistant Coaches Pete Carril and Bubba Burrage through 2005-06, according to President of Basketball Operations Geoff Petrie.
Turner is in his fifth season as an assistant coach with the Kings, and his first as Head Coach Rick Adelman's lead assistant. T.R. Dunn is in his first season as an assistant coach on the Kings' staff after two seasons with the Denver Nuggets as an assistant coach.
Carril is in his eighth season as an assistant coach, and ninth overall with the Kings. Burrage is in his second season as an assistant coach and fifth as the Kings' primary advance NBA scout.
On February 1, the Kings and the Maloof Family exercised the option on Adelman's contract for the 2005-06 season. Adelman became the head coach of the Kings on September 17, 1998. Beginning with the 1998-99 campaign, the Kings have posted a winning record and advanced to the NBA Playoffs in each of the six seasons under Adelman, the winningest coach in franchise history.
