Kings trade: This years 1st round pic, Mike Bibby, Ron Artest, Shareef Abdur-Rahim, Francisco Garcia, Quincy Douby
Kings Receive: Dallas 1st Rounder, Josh Howard, Diop, Juwan Howard, Kwame Brown.

PG Beno (signed today)
SG Martin
SF Howard
PF KT (Sadly)
C Miller

Doesn't matter for this year really. It is a complete rebuilding effort. J Howard is not even that young, but he is good, and it unloads alot of junk from us and allows cap flexibility in the near future.

Lakers Trade: Brown, Kobe, Kings 1st Round
Lakers Receive: D. Harris, Bibby, Ron Ron, Garcia, Shareef,

PG Bibby
SG Harris
SF Artest
PF Shareef
C Bynum

(or however they want to work it)

They get our 1st rounder which should be a great pick. They get Artest who wants LA if he can be sane he can be good.

Dallas Trades: This years 1st round pick, J Howard x2, D Harris, Diop
Dallas Receives: Kobe, Douby

PG Terry
SG Kobe
SF Jones
PF Drik
C Damp

With Stack, Hassel, Bass off the bench. They win everything, no questions asked.

I was board, so wat do you think

10 player trade plus draft picks? Are you sure GMs would make deals that complex? Yes, there was a 13-player trade with the Heat a few years back, but is Mark Cuban really that desperate to get Kobe? Judging from his comments the other day I would say not.

That is a complete purge of our roster. I know that our roster needs a level of revamping, and while you have to gain some to lose some (in this case attaching youth--Garcia and Douby--to a dead weight contract, a regressing injured player and a cancer), what's the point of experimenting with any team chemistry by getting back so many new players? We'll get our fix of big men and a real shotblocking big in Diop, and a real athlete in Josh Howard, but...they don't make deals this complex.

I don't like it. First off, we give up what should be a great first-round pick (that we're kind of counting on to help rebuild) for a late first rounder from Dallas. How does that help us?

Second - Bibby, Artest and Garcia seems like a lot to give up to get only Josh Howard back. The other three guys coming back to us are garbage/easily replaceable. I think we could get a lot more for just Bibby and Artest, whether in separate deals or together, than we get here (without having to include Garcia and Douby - and I don't see getting rid of Shareef's contract as a priority). So we're trading down a good draft pick AND not really maximizing what we can get from what we have.

Third, do you really think Miller and Howard should be on the same team right now? I don't know, maybe there's no bad blood, but I would suspect at least a bit.

NO giving up our first round pick. That's the only benefit to sucking is getting those high picks a few years in a row. Pretty soon you start building a team with some decent talent. If you suck AND give away your good picks you're screwed and just playing the band-aid game.

Ya i dont want to give the pic away either, i just figured the lakers wouldnt do it with out the pick. WE need to realize that bibby is worthless. I dont actually see him getting moved. He is gonna just float away off our books, and we will get cap room.

Artest does have value because he is a great player, despite his narcissism. We need to get something for him.

This whole proposal is a salary dump situation. I think we need to just hope that miller, bibby, KT, and maybe Sar, die in a car crash. Then we are out of thier salaries. But they prob have some deal that if you die you have to pay the families or something... whatever, our team is lotto bound for 3 years.

If it was a 3 team trade between Dallas, Kings, and Lakers I would do it this way;

Dallas trades:
Josh Howard
2008 1st rd pick
DeSagana Diop
Devin Harris

Sac trades:
Ron Artest
John Salmons
Quincy Douby

Lakers trade:
Kobe Bryant

----------------------------

Dallas recv:
Kobe Bryant
John Salmons

Kings recv:
Josh Howard
DeSagana Diop

Lakers recv:
Ron Artest
2008 1st rd pick
Devin Harris

This seems pretty fair. When you give up a guy like Kobe you wont get back equal value in a player because nobody is as good as he is imo. But you can get a young PG, a decent SF that comes off the books if things don't work out in a year or two, and a 1st round pick.

dude, your smoking great stuff. we're trading our 1st rounder this year for josh howard?? our first rounder for a swingman?? swingman is the easiest position to fill. our first rounder should be high considering how much our team stinks this year. i'm looking forward to the draft after the season is over.

we get majorly raped in this trade. how can you call yourself a kings fan giving away our most tradeable assets + 2 of our past draft picks and this years pick!

just figured the lakers wouldn't do it w/o our pick? we're helping facilitate trades for other teams to get better at our expense?

i'm sorry but this is a poor attempt at a salary dump. artest and bibby could fetch enders on their own. we don't need to gut our youth just to someone "hopefully" takes artest and bibby. we coulda moved artest EASILY this summer to the heat for jwill (ender) if we wanted to. both are talented players and could be key cogs on certain teams. they just don't fit here.

thats a harsh statement about death upon those players...we just need to find a team that is willing to take on their contracts or see value in these players so they can be on their way..
