According to FOX 40's Jim Crandell, the Kings have between 8-12 possible candidates to interview. He didn't give any names except to say Geoff Petrie will take charge and the Maloofs will not get in the way.

Former Bulls head coach Bill Cartwright and ex-assistant Scott Brooks are leading up the Kings' coaching search. … Nets President Rod Thorn admitted last week in an interview he was close to trading Jason Kidd to the Lakers in February, but the Lakers wouldn't give up Andrew Bynum. They will now. …
According to the Los Angeles Times:

The Seattle SuperSonics and Sacramento Kings have received permission from the Lakers to interview assistant coach Kurt Rambis for their head coaching jobs, a league source said.
Lakers assistant coaches Brian Shaw and Jim Cleamons are also being interviewed for head coach positions, Shaw by Indiana and Sacramento, and Cleamons by Seattle.
====================
So, if the Kings have 8-12 on their list and if what is being reported is true by the above sources, the list would look like this so far:
1. Bill Cartwright
2. Scott Brooks
3. Kurt Rambis
4. Brian Shaw
I hope the word about the Lakers being open to trading Bynum is true and the Kings can deal for him.
