2007-2008 Kings Roster:

Spencer Hawes / Brad Miller
Justin Williams / Shareef Abdur-Rahim / Kenny Thomas
Al Thornton / Francisco Garcia
Kevin Martin / John Salmons
Mike Bibby / Quincy Douby / Ronnie Price / Sam Cassell

I love a lot this starting lineup !!!!!
With this roster, the Kings will have a very good draft picks next year to draft a big athletic big men to build around !!!!

While I personally like the idea I just don't think the Clips do it. They like Sam for his leadership even though his body is breaking down, and Artest I'm sure is still pretty scary at the moment.

I wonder if we wouldn't do better trying to deal Artest to the Lakers who seem to be somewhat desperate.

I wouldn't do that. I LOVE Al Thornton but I am not going to hand over the keys to a Brand/Artest/Kaman frontcourt without handing them Kenny Thomas with it.

Interesting idea. Might even be possible.

Also agree about that Lakers possibility. With everything else failling through, and Bynum maybe not having quite the value they thought, could we get him from them for Ron? Maybe? A Bynum/Hawes center tandem would certainly be interesting and pretty much cover all the bases for you as far as young bigs.

I wonder if Bynum and Hawes could play with one another. Their games sort of complement each other but I wonder if they could defend by playing one of them at PF and the other at C?

I was considering twin towers, but think likely they are both too centery -- Twin Towers work if one or both are very mobile. But those guys are big ole kids withotu great footspeed. So more likely a platoon wiht some spots of playing together. If one of them hopefully blossomed, you'd probably have to move the other but I'd worry about that only if it happened.

Would you take on Vlad Rad and his contract to make it work?

Still think nbrans's Kings-Clipps-Utah deal is the best I'd seen:

Kings in: Collins's, Giriceck's and Cassell's expirings/Thornton
Kings out: Bibby

Clips in: Bibby
Clips out: Cassell/Mobley/Thornton

Utah in: Mobley
Utah out: Giriceck/Collins

Of course, Utah got their SG in the draft, so maybe it doesn't work anymore.

I'd do it in a second to be honest, I'd do anything at this point.

Desperation is a stinky cologne.

I like this trade for the simple fact that we would be bringing in young talent. That is the whole point of a rebuild. Getting rid of Bibby or Artest is just one of the many steps we must take.

They don't want to move Bynum so why would they trade him if they felt he was undervalued? They're not trading Bynum for anything less than a star player.

better question is why? offensively he is horrible. ok on the defensive end
strength and a years experience may help but he is =certainly not NBA starter material yet.

A lot more to gain from him starting than SAR or KT. We're rebuilding and have no intention of contending.

well maybe...there is value to playing those two since we wouldn't mind trading them away.

Maybe with SAR but I don't think KT is getting any trade value back (did he ever have any?). Anyways, I think it's more important our young players grow than having SAR get a trade stock boost.

Sure, but Im not convinced that Justin's ceiling is all that high. I'd prefer to see him do what he does best, provide energy. Those type of guys are great off the bench. With all that said, who knows if either SAR or Thomas is on the roster next year. I sure hope not. However, my team's GM doesn't like to do much these days.

Yea, it doesn't make a huge difference whether he's starting or not. It's really about minutes, I'd like for him to get at least 20 MPG.
