SEE STATUS UPDATE #1 AS OF SUNDAY, 23 AUGUST AT START OF 2ND PAGE IN THIS THREAD

SEE STATUS UPDATE #2 AS OF WED, 26 AUG IN thread "HEY, KingsFans in SoCal and San Diego....."

*****************************************************************************

Ok folks, seems the flavor is running decidedly toward attending a Clips game. So the first order of business is which Clippers game for a KF bunch to go see? Please note the sunday game is at 12:30pm

Saturday, 20 February, 7:30pm game time

Sunday, 21 March, 12:30pm game time

I personally am for the Sat, 20 Feb game for a bunch of reasons. But lets see the poll results first and go from there. Poll will have a 2 week time period so I have time to look into block of tickets at Staples as well as group rates from San Diego north.

UPDATE NOTE At this time I am only working on a group travel plan for fans coming up from Orange County/San Diego area plus a group rate for any/all Kings fans who want to go to the game. I'm doing this on my own as a nutso fan.

OK you KF faithful. The wheels are in motion for the SoCal Kings Krowd. I've talked with Clippers ticket lady and she has offered some really great seats at really great prices. Once we have an idea that we can get at least 20 as a group, I'll reserve a package and let everyone know. If we have a minimum of 20 tickets she did say one really neat thing they would provide us a "Kings fans entry tunnel" in which all of us would line the tunnel for the Kings as they enter the stadium so we can High Five the team as they enter.

I've also looked into Amtrak which has convenient trains to LA (arriving at 3:35, 4:05, 5:45, etc) as well as a 10:10 pm leaving LA south back to San Diego. Should be OK as typical games end around 9:30 to 9:40. I'm working on ground transport for our Kings Krowd from Amtrak to Staples and back. More on that as I find out.

Great work so far, CruzDude! And the idea of "Kingsfans.com - SoCal Chapter" (a name I thought had a certain ring ;) ) lining the tunnel for the Kings is awesome!!!

WELL KF, LOOKS LIKE SATURDAY, 20 FEBRUARY IS GOING TO BE THE GAME FOR THE "KINGSFANS.COM - SO.CAL CHAPTER" AT A CLIPPERS GAME.

SUNDAY NOON IS NOT GOING TO WORK FOR MANY REASONS SO SORRY TO THOSE FEW WHO MIGHT HAVE PREFERRED IT.

So, here is the plan:

1. Those who want to commit, do so on this thread. Then I'll contact you as a group to explain payment for Staples/Clipper tickets and for the train for those of you who will use that method.

2. Overall plan is to get all train users on the same train and there are 4 choices going up to arrive at Union Station in downtown LA: 2:40, 3:35, 4:05 and 5:45 pm I'll get a poll going in next day or so to figure out which train works for the majority.

3. From Union Station to Staples Center is about 0.6 mi. I plan to suggest taking the Metro Red Line (a subway from inside Union Station) to a stop aout 4 blocks from Staples Center.

4. Going south from LA there is only one train, leaving at 10:10pm from Union Station. I will get that one no matter. If it is in overtime, so be it.

more in a new thread in day or so.

This is gonna be fun!!! :D
