Kings-Celtics PBP thread for Dec. 5

just didnt like how they caught up the end abit.. was the players on the court could keep the celts under 100... newayz not to worry...

why did the celts get mores steals in the last 2 minutes than they did in the other 46 minutes leading up to it?

::stands up and applauds the Kings::

this is the first game of the season that i didn't get to see due to the fact that it was against the Celtics..the one team that i get blacked out...i was ify about actually following the play by play thread for fear that i wouldn't get the full effect....but it was pretty darn close...i followed the whole game...and whata game it was...thanks VF21 for doing the play by play...i appreciate it

woohoo....go kings!!!

To Bobcats - might be a good idea to stay home on Tuesday
 
If you people have to nitpick what happened in the last two minutes, feel free to do so. I'm going to focus on how the team turned this game around. Much more interesting.

i know... i just wanted to see the team hold them to under 100 points.... giving up 16 points in 2 minutes is bad no matter how "over" the game was.

I don't think you're seeing the big picture. They're not out there to increase the lead, etc. The rookies are on the court so they learn not to make mistakes, etc. I think you're way off base, but whatever...

You may have wanted to see them hold the Celtics to under 100. I don't think that's why Adelman put them out there. He put them out there WITHOUT a point guard so they could get a little more very valuable playing time. The score at that point was irrelevant. It still counts as a win.
 
Thanks sooo much, VF21! I was out and when I checked my AOL mail, got a score alert that read 36-18 after the first. I wondered why that was, so I came on here and thanks to your PBP, I got a picture of what happened and what was happening! Thanks heaps! :)

thats true and i understand that but, peja finally scoring 30, darius getting his first double-double of the season and the kings holding a team to under 100 points helps to eliminated some of the negative comments made about the team. like team chemistry, our bench and team defense... maybe we can do those things against the bobcats.

i think they would've tonight if they did it on purpose. but they had to let the second unit play a little bit with that big of a lead.
overall it's a good game, if you can wipe 1st quarter off your memory....they definitely made up for it though, i am very proud of them.

There is some truth to that but 11 of 12 also has gone a long way to shut critics up.
 
Why does anyone care about the critics? This team may or may not ever shut them up. Who cares? I care only about Kings wins. :p

oh i am definitely proud of the after that horrid 1st quarter.... but it seemed so anticlimactic to see them still score 105 points. after having only 89 with about 2:30 left in the game.
 
Peja destroyed Pierce in the third on D ... Pierce goes 0 for 6! Whose our defensive stopper???

I understand what you're saying. Those bench-marks may be important to some, but seeing the cohesive team effort to turn this game around did more to silence the nay-sayers than whether or not Pedja actually scored 30, or Darius got a double-double. Those are individual performances. To me, the most important thing to take away from tonight's game was the TEAM effort.

Regardless, we're both nit-picking to some extent. It was a win; a nice win; and I loved it!!!

I agree! I was watching and suddenly realized Pierce was being totally and completely shut down by somebody wearing #16. It was a truly memorable occasion!!!
