Mike Bibby/Kenny Thomas for Gooden/Varejao/Snow and they then get Hassell/Madsen for Marshall? How is this a bad trade for the Cavs.

The cavs aren't going to decimate their frontline for the privilege of adding Kenny Thomas to their lineup. They might be interested in Bibby, but not at the expense of THREE bigs.

AV is a Free Agent and could price himself out of Cleveland quickly. Marshall is a NONE factor...hell Madsen is better than Marshall at this stage of his career. And if Kenny Thomas gets 30+ minutes a night, he'd do a similar job to what Gooden is doing now. Gooden and Thomas are eerily similar players, albeit Gooden is a little better and taller. Madsen would also provide a similar role to Varejao at a fraction of the cost. Now this is what Cleveland gets...they then move Snow for Mike Bibby. THis is a D'uh deal for Cleveland...if Petrie came to Paxson and said, "Hey, would you part with Gooden/Varejao/Snow/Marshall for Bibby/Thomas/Madsen/Hassell would you do it?" Paxson would say, "Please Hold". Put the phone on mute, celebrate for about 30 seconds in his office, come back and pick up the phone and say, "Deal." This is an absolute no-brainer for the Cavs of any of the three teams.
Paxson told Petrie at the deadline ANY combination of players outside of LeBron could be had in a deal to land Bibby. The problem was, Petrie didn't like any of the combinations without expirings/picks at that time.

Smills, you'll talk yourself into anything if it means a lopsided deal for the Kings. Would YOU be happy if the Kings power forwards were Kenny Thomas and Mark Madsen?? Didn't think so. It's bordering on ludicrous.

I would trade our pick, Bibby, and Artest in order to get Garnett.

Minny would get Artest, Gooden, and 1st round pick from Sac...

Sac would get Garnett, and a toss in from Cleveland (maybe Jones?)

Cleveland would get Bibby and a throw in from Minnesota.

Who knows..

KT/Madsen for Eric Snow and Donyell Marshall that's an upgrade for Cavs.

Gooden/Varejao are for Bibby.

eric snow? brad miller still our starting center? SALMONS starting at the sf? ok, lets all leave trade ideas alone right now

I'm sure when you tell this to Cleveland it will make them feel much better about the fact that this trade leaves them with the worst power forward rotation in the history of the NBA.

At least this discussion made me open my mind to new possibilities. Never before had I thought of a roster where Kenny Thomas actually should be the starting PF. :p

There are some things you just shouldn't open your mind to... IMHO, you've just stated the most obvious one.
