Kings-Cavaliers PBP for March 13

Not open for further replies.
Note: Kings looked totally disjointed starting the third quarter and I think it's all my fault. I forgot to warn them about the kool-aid.

:(

Kings ball.

Artest one on one, jumper doesn't go; Cavs ball.

Cavs playing much better team ball at the moment...Z able to spin inside and get two more off the glass.

65-53 Cavs

Bibby turns the corner, cuts inside and is really crunched hard by Newble and Pavlovic. Mike falls to the floor and Newble falls on him. Bibby to the line.

Makes first; and second.

65-55 Cavs

8;33 left

Kings in the zone but cannot stop big Z for two more.

67-55 Cavs

One and done for the Kings; Cavs rebound.

Cavs from the side for long two.

69-55 Cavs

Absolutely NO team play by the Kings. Artest going one-on-one again, almost loses the ball but is fouled and goes to the line.

Can't fault his hustle and heart, but damn we need to see TEAM play.

Artest makes first; misses second. Z with the rebound.

69-56 Cavs

Cavs miss; rebound is tipped in for two.

71-56 Cavs

Miller jumper is short; Gooden rebound.

6;50 left

This is an all-too-typical 3rd quarter melt-down. Blech.

Cavs miss; Kings board but they turn it over and Cavs convert for two more.

73-56 Cavs

6;28 left

Time out.

This is without Lebron James. I cannot even begin to imagine the carnage if James was playing...

Salmons and SAR in for Martin and Miller.

Kings ball. Bibby drives inside, ball knocked out of his hands and oob. Still Kings ball.

6;13 left

Oh, crap again.

Inbound pass goes to Bibby, who turns and bounce passes to SAR, who misses it and lets it roll 3/4 of the way down the floor. Pavlovic gets it and SAR fouls him.

Pav makes first; and second.

75-56 Cavs

Our front court is SAR and KT. That should say everything you need to know (and probably more than you feared).

Salmons for two.

75-58 Cavs

5;35 left

Pav miss; KT board.

Artest accelerates and drives the lane, getting the left-hand lay-up to fall.

75-60 Cavs

Cavs ball; Artest breaks up the pass and gets the steal. Over to Bibby. Shot is short; Cavs rebound.

4;39 left

Hughes airballs a three; 24 second violation on the Cavs.

SAR with the turnover; Cavs ball. Hughes miss; ball oob off the Cavs.

Kings ball.

3;53 left

Salmons dish inside to KT, who gets the bucket and the +1 on foul by Z.

Varajao in for Z.

3;50 left

Bonus misses; Gooden board.

75-62 Cavs

Cavs ball. KT with the knockaway. Running with Salmons, dish inside and Salmons gets two off the glass.

75-64 Cavs

Time out.

3;31 left

Cisco in for Bibby.

Cavs ball.

Pavlovic for two off the glass as Salmons had sailed by with the stupid blocking attempt on a long shot that never seems to work.

77-64 Cavs

Kings miss; Cavs ball. Artest with the steal but Cavs get it back. 4PF for SAR.

Cavs ball. Another three by Pav.

80-64 Cavs

...sigh...

2;09 left

Artest jumper in and out; Cavs rebound.

Cavs miss; Salmons board.

Kings with THREE rebounds in the third quarter.

1;34 left

Artest fouled by Snow; non-shooting.

Still Kings ball. Artest looks for someone to pass the ball to but KT and SAR are otherwise occupied. Turnover. Cavs convert for two more at the other end.

82-64 Cavs

Artest crosses the mid-court line and jacks up a long shot that isn't going anywhere good. Cavs rebound.

58.6 seconds left

Pavlovic to the line for two.

Makes first; Martin back in but no idea for whom because Grant is reading a Lasik commercial. Blech.

Makes second.

84-64 Cavs

Whooo! A 20-point deficit. Imagine the fun Musselman is going to have as the clock winds down in the fourth quarter.

Kings miss; Cavs ball.

Cavs miss; SAR board.

Salmons clears a path, dumps to SAR, who finds the bucket.

84-66 Cavs

BUT that nice play was quickly negated by NO transition defense on the other end and an absolutely embarrassingly easy two by Pav.

86-66 Cavs

End of the third quarter.

If there were any justice in the NBA, we'd be able to just throw in the towel and head for the airport...

Artest may be hogging the ball but he's the ONLY player out there right now who seems to be the least bit interested in the game. Martin has been invisible; KT and SAR are apparently communing with the Mother Ship; Bibby is probably gone for the rest of the game on the bench (and I think that's for the best).

Oh, goodie. Z is back in. We are so doom-ed.

Kings start the 4th with Salmons, Martin, SAR, Corliss and Garcia on the court.

Oh, look. Salmons passes to Corliss' back. Turnover. They're showing the score as 88-69 Cavs but that cannot be right. I think it's

91-66 Cavs

SAR offensive foul. 5PF.

Hughes at the line. Makes first; and second.

Comcast shows score as 90-69 but I sure don't know how the Kings got three points since the start of the 4th.

10;51 left

Kings ball. Oob, Kings retain possession.

Kings with another jump miss; Cavs rebound.

Hughes gets another easy jumper.

92-69 Cavs

Kings with another non-productive possession.

Cavs miss; Kings ball.

10;00 left

Corliss to the line ...

Makes first; and second.

92-71 Cavs

Big whoop...

I apologize to all for my sudden nasty snide comments. I love the Kings but I don't know who those guys are out there. Horrible, horrible second half and I think the best thing I can do is just quit the PBP at this point...

Very disappointing lack of effort in the second half by the Kings.

And, as I say that, the Kings move the ball, find Martin open and he gets two.

94-73 Cavs

Pav turnover.

Time out and commercial...

I'm still here...but my heart isn't. This is just so disappointing. I didn't expect us to win going away but I actually thought we might stay close without James on the court...

Silly me.

Kings ball.

Martin drives inside, getting past Hughes, but the shot doesn't fall. Cavs board.

Z for two more.

96-73 Cavs

Salmons running the point. Works inside, kicks out to Cisco.

Garcia for three.

96-76 Cavs

7;48 left and I suspect it's going to be a LONG 7+ minutes.

Cavs for two more.

98-76 Cavs

Kings ball. Non-shooting foul on the Cavs; still Kings ball. Salmons still running the point.

Gives to Martin, who creates an impossible shot and makes it off the glass inside.

98-78 Cavs

Varajao miss; Salmons board.

He tries to go end-to-end, but ball knocked out of his hands. Cisco was open but that would have entailed team play. Still Kings ball. Somebody got two.

98-80 Cavs

Pav at the other end for quick two in response.

100-80 Cavs

Hey, look! Pavlovic with a new career high. Newble was the early leader for TDM but I think Pavlovic has to be the winner.

Corliss at the line.

Makes first; time is standing still... makes second.

100-82 Cavs

6;31 left

Hughes jumper for two.

102-82 Cavs

It's gotten so bad Jerry is making really bad "toasted" jokes to link the Kings to the Subway commercial.

Martin out; Price in...

And now, defying anything remotely resembling logic, Jerry is saying this is a game of runs and the Kings could go on another long run and get back into this game. I think I hear the theme from Twilight Zone playing in the background.

SAR at the line. Marshall in for Varajao.

6;02 left

SAR makes first; misses second. Cavs rebound.

The game clock may actually have started ADDING minutes to the remaining time.

Salmons pass forward to Corliss who gets two.

102-84 Cavs

Artest is on the bench, standing and cheering for the team and showing some interest. The rest of the bench could be cardboard cutouts...

Cavs for two. Kings ball. Steal. Cavs ball.

Hughes called for offensive foul as he sends Ronnie Price sprawling to the floor.

Time out and commercial.

104-84 Cavs

As painful as it seems, there are still over 5 minutes left to play...

5;01 to be exact

Hey! Douby and Williams on the court, along with Garcia, Price and Williamson

Garcia at the line to shoot two.

Hrm. Wait. They correct it and PRICE is at the line. That's pretty bad when the Kings don't even remember which guy got hammered to the floor.

Price makes first; and second.

104-86 Cavs

Garcia showing pressure full-court. Oh, look. Another three by the Cavs. Damon Jones did the honors. Little creep. (oops, sorry.)

Corliss to the line.

107-86 Cavs

Makes first; Gooden to the bench. Another D. Jones into the game I think...

4;43 left

Misses second. Cavs rebound.

107-87 Cavs

Jones miss; Price board. Williams miss; Cavs board.

Damon Jones pulls up for another three attempt. Jerk. Miss; Kings rebound.

Price for two.

107-89 Cavs

Brown to the line on foul by Williams.

3;54 left

Makes first; and second.

109-89 Cavs

Somebody knock Damon Jones on his arse, please.

Price with the ball. Goes inside, kicks it to Williams, whose lay-up doesn't go but he's fouled and heading to the line on foul by Damon Jones.

Justin misses his first; Wesley in for the Cavs. Chatting with Corliss... Justin makes his second shot.

109-90 Cavs

Whoooo! We're within 19. Time to start planning the strategic use of the time outs.

Cavs miss; Justin board.

Cavs in the penalty.

Cisco to the line.

3;18 left

Makes first; and second.

109-92 Cavs

Kings showing a late-game surge.

Cavs ball. Shot blocked by WILLIAMS!!!

Douby on the other end for two.

109-94 Cavs

Garcia showing full-court pressure.

Cavs three misses; Jones runs down the rebound and it's knocked oob by Williams.

Time out and commercial.

2;39 left

Cavs inbound.

Damon Jones with another three.

112-94 Cavs

Kings ball. Williams to the line again ...

First looks good but finds a way to miss; misses second. Cavs rebound.

2;14 left

Snow jumper for two.

114-94 Cavs

Douby for three!

114-97 Cavs

1;41 left

Damon Jones with another three.

117-97 Cavs

Kings ball. Miss, Justin to the line again as he's fouled fighting for the board.

1;24 left

Misses first; makes second!!!

117-98 Cavs

Wesley for three.

120-98 Cavs

Corliss runs right over Jones for two.

120-100 Cavs

Marshall flies in for a dunk.

122-100 Cavs

Kings miss; Brown with a showtime dunk.

124-100 Cavs

Clock finally winding down; Cavs running down the clock now? Gee, how nice of them.

8;1 seconds left.

Non-shooting foul on Corliss who doesn't let Dwayne Jones stroll inside. Wesley, finally showing some class IMHO, just walks out the clock.

124-100 Cavs
