Fox has always been a bad defender.
I wouldn’t say always been a bad defender. Just very inconsistent. When he wanted to, he could lock down a player. He just doesn’t do it all the time, which I bet frustrates even the most die hard fox supporter. What he does this year that annoys me the most is defending a player with both hands behind his back. I know he’s trying to make a point to the refs but they’re still calling him for the blocking foul instead of reach in fouls. Just play defense the way it’s taught.

So the Cavs have gone from championship contenders, to rebuilding, to champoins, to rebuilding and are now playoff contenders in the same span that the Kings have been non contenders.
To be fair, they got bad fast and then were granted a miracle wherein the Rockets Vlade'd their second overall pick and passed on Evan Mobley.

So I guess this is a great game to forget we were playing.

I just watched the highlights and it was all Fox moving out of the way of players giving them layups and dunks. Was he that defensively apathetic all game. I watch stuff like that and don’t get it, does pride not ever set in for him?
Bingo! I thought Fox had rediscovered his defensive chops early in the season, but I watched him play matador defense against the Cavs and even started counting how many times he did it before I finally shut the TV off.

On paper he has all the tools to be one. He could probably get to a really good level.

Do I believe he will ever come close? No.

Which is probably another reason folks are so frustrated.

Physical tools are undeniable. It’s mindset. I was hoping facing Mitchell everyday would accelerate his process, but that looks unlikely. Fox won’t slow his game down, play both ways consistently, and work on making others better until he’s on his third contract. The Kings can’t wait that long. Trade him now. Bring Fox back when he’s 30 to be a veteran piece like Conley.

Umm give the kings lebron James in his prime 2 times and I like our odds too

Nevermind their insane lotto luck in that span.

Not that the Kings haven’t been a complete and total dumpster fire of a franchise, who’ve likely squandered multiple opportunities to get back into playoff contention.

Carmichael dave saying he's done covering this team until there are MAJOR CORE SHAKING MOVES DONE.

Man, if you've lost CD, you've really screwed this entire thing up.

He's questioning their heart. He says they are so unlikeable. He's tired of talking about the team period. "if you want to go to the "other show" for your kings coverage, go ahead."

"im not gonna come in here selling you a false bill of goods anymore"

"If you want to ride the rollercoaster, cool. But I'm getting off. Theres too much other sports going on to talk about instead of the exact same thing we've been talking about for years."

"After 35+ years, after being loyal, I'm done. I have to contractually talk about them but i have no interest anymore. If you need in depth coverage feel free to go elsewhere."

Good for you dave. I know you cannot completely check out like I have but bravo to you my friend. Like you said, this city and its fanbase are like the loyal dog that gets kicked everyday. They come back with their tail wagging, ready for their daily a$$kicking.

Its pathetic. My words, not yours.

Its liberating to finally give this $h-it franchise the double barrels. I'm here on this site out of a hard to break habit. It's nothing but curiosity at this point.

So the guy that basically made a career from being an informed fan is out. That's a bad look for the ownership and management. Not that anyone pays attention to sacramento media.

I’ve already stopped listening to his show……and moved on to other stuff so really, no big deal. Since Kayte left the show, there is no balance to the show. Nothing personal and I’m sure I’ll go back and check in in the morning drive but if I need my Kings fix I go to Damien Barking’ show.

Personally its probably not a big deal. For the kings it is a big deal just considering who CD is. He's been a fan since day 1. He helped keep the team here in sac. He's the morning host on the kings flagship who has finally had it with this team. Yeah, thats a big deal. If he's at his breaking point, how many other fans are there or who have already stopped following the team? How many longtime season ticket holders are finally not gonna renew?

Right or wrong, my breaking point was passing on Doncic. It was so demoralizing and so KANGZ that it broke my fandom. Haven't really cared since. But I care about the history enough that I'm still here commenting. My uncle was a season ticket holder for over 20 years. Went to lots of games at all 3 arenas. Saw jerry reynolds almost die on the court. Cried when Ricky berry killed himself. Was at the game Bobby Hurley almost died on Del Paso Blvd. Was at the game Greg Lukenbill went up into the rafters and used one of the banners to stop a water leak. Was outside the 10.333 arco for the first game in sacramento. I grew up on this team and they finally broke me. I couldn't take the losing anymore. Couldn't take the never-ending excuses. And it seems like more and more fans are getting to this point and in some ways its kind of sad.

This is where I am sad to say as a dedicated Kings fan since day one, 1985. But it's only option left for all the reasons recited. Try to keep Mitchell and Haliburton but nuke the rest.

Been watching the Cavs a ton, they're fun as hell. Mobley-Allen on defense just punish everyone who tries to attack the rim and Garland has made huge strides as an overall offensive player. They need Okoro to be their Mikal Bridges and one more wing that fits a little better than Sexton, but they're going to be an absolute powerhouse once Mobley grows up on offense. Would not surprise me at all to see this Cavs team win a title in the next 5-7 years depending on Mobley's growth.
