Meanwhile Gentry’s walking to the locker room, “Why the **** did I accept this job?”

Gentry has been better overall, but his career has largely been that of a coach "accepting" that job, haha. Got a bump in pay too. And they had a great potential young coach who has an approach to defense already rising through the ranks of their system. Perfect for a go for it now or blow it up scenario. Ah well. In Monte/Vivek we trust.

Look, the problem in also ignoring history when it comes to holdover coaches and THEIR handpicked assistants is each game has a thin margin of error. Gentry is a coach better off trying to score 140 a game than hold teams under anything. Him matching up in ways that doesn't fit his style is going to turn the smallest mole hill into the biggest mountains if he doesn't watch out.

Bagley goes with the rest of them, that's where we're at with him.

Yeah, it sucks but they wasted the time they had and built up Holmes instead. If they do end up just blowing this up, that was a big, big mistake but it's over now. Rebuilds go one way if you're not a complete idiot of a GM. Cap space, youth, picks. And if you're using that space on a young player, they better have proven to be worth the money.

The fact that he has been complaining about the lack of defense in his recent post game comments is comical. This is all par for the course in Alvin’s coaching career. He does not hold players consistently responsible for defense during games. He might hold you out one game, but as we saw with Buddy last night he just randomly decides to overlook it the next.

I vote Vivek gets truly innovative and replaces the entire front office and coaching staff with fans as a sort of bleeding edge A/B test.

Kings should just have a white flag for their insignia. Like I said after the last game, they are easily headed for the #1 slot you don't want to have - most points allowed in the league.

We should hire a franchise icon and hope for the best.

C-Webb with Associate GM Mike Bibby LETS GO

Rather than pay bumping holdovers and paying 8 million dollars to a player like Harkless, he can easily re-invest that money into someone worth it. Unless Vivek doesn't want to be called out on his own BS that is.

Even over Monte, Joe Dumars needs to be the one to go. Or he needs to have the guts to jump up to the front of the battle and take the heat that goes along with it.

Had he done this three years ago we’d have Luka Doncic and at worst be a perennial playoff team and that alone would have Sacramento LIT every single night.

This is a player problem. At some point you can't keep blaming the head coach

Yeah you can. Bad coaches or mediocre coaches are still just that. However, you can't expect coaching to make up for poor roster management or ownership for sure. Unless that coach has Pop level ability to shape their roster. Like what George Karl wanted when he came in. Problem there was it meant slow footed volume bigs didn't belong.

"Interim" head coach... like one foot in the door one foot out.

Hence why you are going to have a difficult time getting players not to doubt the whole thing and crumble at the first stress test. Not to mention that he can really be seen as an outsider. He was Lukes pick. Vivek's biggest problem is never cleaning up all the mess at once. Clean sweep Vivek.

Really don't get why this isn't hard. Hire the basketball prez and let him establish the personal as he sees fit. If it goes wrong, he's on the hook. Until we finally get the organization all on the same page and under the same regime, these problems are going to continue.

Uh, how many times over the last 16 seasons has this roster changed? Unfortunately this problem starts at the top and is continuing to trickle down it would seem.
Not that much the last 10 years or so the Kings have built around two slightly above average players Cousins/Fox who lead you to 11th seeds and surrounded them with average wings who disappear for long stretches' in Barnes/Gay and teams becomes much better as soon as they leave. It's the same mistake over and over. Paying max to guys like Cousins/Fox is suicide.

If you're saying we need a new owner and it will help turn things around, I would agree in full

The whole thing has always been janky. Almost from day 1 Vivek has had his minority owners attempt to push him out. There might be a reason for that. I'm not totally bought in though. I don't think Vivek is some puppet master pulling the strings on this garbage truck, but he doesn't seem to buy into salesmanship too easily.
