Due to moving and everything that goes with it - I won't be able to watch another Kings game until we play Jazz on the 2nd - hence I won't be able to make a game threads before the Nuggets game after that. Someone please step up so we can keep the party going.

So close and yet so far away.Kings played a great road game, competed against the best and came up short in silicon city losing the 2nd straight game dropping to 5-10 for the season which is 7th worst in the NBA. Kings get no break as they are already in Portland where they will playing tonight against the Blazers who are perfect at home, trying to stop the losing streak at 2 games.

We seem to be stuck at the 7th worst spot and chances of dropping to 8th are much, much more realistic than climbing to 6th.
We passed up yet another possibility to clinch the playoffs last night.

We are scoring enough points to win games. Unfortunately, we allow more. It is difficult to describe how pathetic are our defensive efforts because there is no scale for such level of sucktitude. I will try to give You some perspective. Only Knicks allow more points per game which means that even Warriors allow less
. We are the worst in opponent FG% and 3pt FG%. We allow 4thmost assists per game. We have 2nd best FG% at home in the entire NBA and a 3-4 record. That says it all.

We have enough talent to play better defense. What we don't have is a philosophy, strategy, plan or clue. You add an acute lack of discipline that is a trade mark of pathetically "coached' teams and this is what You get. When You have a young team in the rebuilding process - main thing is to "hammer in" the basics to the kids so they develop the right way. I am not sure how this will continue but if You know that You have to score 120 points a night to win a game - it is too much pressure even for veteran teams. In this rebuilding process a coach change will be a given but additionally we have to acquire some more defensive minded players. Houses are build from the ground where roof comes last.

Jason Thompson is not a small forward and while it was important to play him as many minutes as possible - there is no reason force the issue this way. Surely, we are shorthanded at SP position at the moment but having JT chasing small forwards around the court is not what he needs to be doing especially when You at the end of the game decide to go small. It is difficult for a young player to learn to play the right way and it doesn't help when he is playing out of his position. In other words - there is absolutely nothing wrong with letting Brad Miller come off the bench.

When You play the best teams on their best - You don't have a margin for error - none. That is what happened last night when Kings played an excellent game but never really had a chance of winning it. Lack of defense and pathetic 3pt shooting proved to be too much to overcome. Better team won but we made them earn it. Maybe if we hadn't forced so many threes towards the end - it could have been closer.

AWARD TIME
Radmanovic gets the TDM award eventhough - half of it belongs to whoever let him open at all times.
LW-VC goes to Fisher. Gee Floppy, what happened ?
RA &1 goes to Sasha. He just iritates the hell out of me. I can't stand him
JHA went to Beno who can't put 2 decent games in a row.
SAR - Methuselah award went to Brad - one day he will share the name of this award with SAR
WTF moment of the game 4-20 3pt FG - enough already !

3 teams in the NBA left with perfect home record and Blazers are one of them. Good team, great crowd - will make it very, very difficult for us. We have a little edge going in our favor since we got trashed by them just 3-4 days ago so maybe they won't be too sharp. Can we keep an opponent below 50% FG or even from 50% 3pt FG ? If we don't - we will lose again. Other than that our bench has to perform like it did last night and we need to stop drinking koolaid at the half.

TDM allstars are once again a match up nightmare. Too deep, too quick too well coached. Fernandez gets the TDM award. LW-VC goes to Aldridge. If we manage to win this - it would be the best win of the season and it would get us much closet to clinch the first see in the West.
