KINGS at Gund Arena

SSBG

G-League
O.K., I've never posted a new thread before.......Just wanted to say that a bunch of us will be at the game in Cleveland on April 1st. Our seats are diagonally across the court from the KINGS bench, 24 rows up. Look for signs saying, "HI, KINGSFANS !!!!!!!!!!!!!":D

Have a GREAT time, Hoodie! Are you sitting next to the cool lady with the Kevin Martin away jersey? Tell her I said Hi!
Dang it! That reminds me, I forgot to send the megaphone! Oh well, that would probably get you guys in trouble anyway.

We're going up together, but our seats are kind of mirror images of each other.
Megaphone........probably not a very good idea.:)

Did she tell you about the jersey?
Yea, the megaphone gets me in trouble too. In fact, I've pretty much been banned from actually possessing one anymore.......sigh.

Hoodie -

Megaphones are bad... and can cause serious damage to your auditory system, especially if you're sitting next to Kingsgurl. If you don't believe me, you need to try and find a certain Mavericks fan in a Nowitzki jersey who, during a playoff game, had the misfortune to be sitting next to her. He was pleasant enough as long as the Mavs were ahead, but after half-time, when the Kings began to pull away, he became surly. Of course, having GO KINGS screamed into his ear at approximately 120 decibels by a crazy woman in Kings regalia, purple hair AND a megaphone, could have contributed to the problem. I do know he left early, dragging his girl-friend by the arm and up the stairs with about two minutes left in the game.

Of course, once the Mavericks fan was gone, the megaphone was pretty much just aimed any which way - which could be the reason I couldn't hear for about a week out of my left ear.

;)

Sounds like a GREAT time to me !!!!!!!:D

Going to a Kings game with KG is always a GREAT time. Maybe not for everyone around us ;) but we make sure the team knows we're there and supporting them, even if it's from the rafters! The ARCO experience is one I don't get to have nearly as often as I would like, and when I'm able to attend, I give it my all.

THUNDER, baby! That's what it's all about, at least in whatever section KG and I happen to land in.

:D

Looking forward (more than I can say) to the "ARCO EXPERIENCE."
T.V. doesn"t do it justice, I know.

I have attended a game with Kingsgurl and there is nothing like it. hoodie, about the coolest thing I can think of right now would be to attend a game at ARCO with all you guys + Kingsgurl + VF21. Gotta be the ultimate in Kings fan experience, AFAIC.

You guys have a BLAST at Gund Arena. And tell everyone else I said hi, and I'll be watching out for ya. Oh, and have a nice visit too.

GO KINGS!

The kids are gonna do most of the artwork on the sign; I'm sure we can squeeze a HAPPY B-DAY in there somewhere.:)

That sounds like so much fun!!! I've only been to one game but my dream is to make it to Arco before I die. When it happens I want Kingsgurl with me, I like megaphones. You guys who live in the area are VERY lucky to get to attend.

Will give detailed account. Hopefully we'll get on camera. There is gonna be more KINGS gear in Gund Arena than has ever been !!!!!!!!! There are A LOT.......I mean A WHOLE LOT of people going up.:D

I will let Hoodie give the detailed account, but, IT WAS FABULOUS! The Kings showed off for us. The Cleveland fans were real nasty. They even booed their own when we began to blow them out. It was too funny! They had a skit at every commercial time out with a guy dressed as a King who made fun of the Cav fans, royally. They were trying to get the crowd rev'ed up but they missed it. People in our section kept saying "nobody cares about Martin. Shut up!" but, we didn't! BTW, Hoodie is in Columbus with his daughter at a cheer competition. I'll tell him you're waiting. Guys, I can truly see why you love these Kingss!!! Only thing better will be Arco.

80 people? You guys are tops. Glad you had a good time. I was hoping Spec K would get a little more playing time, but that's RA for ya. Is that you in the picture.......err....Grannie? ;)

its amazing how some people can be so loyal to the kings without even seeing them play...props

I don't know how, but I was almost done with this, and I lost it all !!!!!!! O.K., here goes, again.......Cleveland.....THE MISTAKE ON THE LAKE........A city so dirty, the RIVER actually caught on fire.......My LEAST favorite place on the planet........on Friday, April 1, 2005, I had a WONDERFUL time there !!!!!!! My beautiful fiancee, my mother, and a young man named Damien went up together. Damien is a young man who has special needs. He was in high school at the same time Kev was, and because for his love of basketball, Coach Aronhalt let him be a manager for the team. While Damien may have special needs, his knowledge of basketball and the NBA exceeds most people I know. ( I'm not sure if he's autistic or not) The young man KNOWS basketball !!! He is a big fan of Kev and of LeBron and the Cavs. He had a LeBron jersey on and two of Kev's cards in his pocket. We got to spend about 15 minutes with Kev outside the teams hotel, and when he walked out and went straight up to Damien, that young man's face lit up like the Vegas strip. I could have gone home then. Kev gave him some slack about the LeBron jersey, but Damien quickly pulled out his trading cards. As the other KINGS started coming out of the hotel, Damien was calling them by name. He recognized some of them before I did. He got up close with everyone except Pedja and Bibby. No doubt, it was the highlight of his life. It was also my mom's first NBA experience. She kept saying, "These guys are Big." It was also the first time she had met Kev. (she doesn't get out much)
Now, when we got to Gund, we were catching a little flack because of our KINGS gear, but, from what I understand, others got more rude treatment than we did. Everything that came our way was in the spirit of good sportsmanship except for a few looks I got when the KINGS were up 24 And I was a little vocal.:D It would have been nice if Kev would have gotten some quality minutes, but we'll take the WIN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! By the way, there were WAY more than 80 people from Z-ville there !!! Oh, if you haven't, yet, check out zanesvilletimesrecorder.com; that's my boy and my mother-in-law on there !!!!!!! YUMYUM had a good time, too.......mostly for the last 32.9 seconds of the game. I'm still trying to convince her that was not a steal. Can't wait until we can get to ARCO for a game !!!!!!!!

:D I almost forgot..........B-JAX was dressed and warmed up before the game !!! He was missing EVERYTHING at first, and then, it was like there was a magnet in the ball !!!!! He was the last King on the court for warm-ups, and, at the end, he was DRILLING them from EVERYWHERE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He even hit a few from out of bounds !!!!!!!!!! This is GOOD news !!!!!!!!!!!!!:D

Oh, hoodie, that was one of the most enjoyable personal assessments I have ever read. Way way cool about Damien. Kevin is such a sweetheart. I want to meet that young man, not because he is a basketball star, but because he is such a kind person. Way to go Spec K!! You really fit your name, my boy. Oops! Sorry! When you get over 50, someone of your age is still a boy. ;)

Thanks again for the report, hoodie. Glad everyone had such a great time. And, way to go, Kings, for getting them a win!!!!!!!

Oh, and thanks for the update on Bobby. That is such wonderful news. He is my favorite Sacramento King (they don't call me 6thmanfan for nothing) and I have missed him very very much.
