JT had 1 year + some partial buyout of the final season. landry had 2 yrs left. nik should have been sent down to the d league to get experience. the future 1st and swap is the killer if things don't go right.

i hope they do another grantland kings draft video if we're swapping a top 3 pick with the sixers while they're stacked with young talent competing for the playoffs. would love to see vivek's grill asking the room who to pick again.

No, that's what the Suns did. We traded away players who were 2 years away from expiring to get Matthews or Ellis. Rondo is, and was always, the 2nd piece of the pie after them. What if he says no? If the Suns strike out, they have extra cap space going forward, but they still have their draft picks. In the next 4 years, we will have 2 of our draft picks taken away and 2 of them possibly being swapped out. That's terrifying.

What's truly terrifying here is being a fan of this team.

We traded those 3 players AND a 2018 (or potentially 2019 if Bulls get our 2017 pick) 1st round pick AND the right to swap picks in the next two drafts. Stop looking at just the players we traded. The draft is our future. Or was our future. Every single small market team has built from smart trades and the draft. They hardly EVER sign big fish. You sign role players to surround those big fish that you trade for or drafted.

Different front office, SAME DEAL. Giving up a 1st round pick for a team that is rebuilding is NOT a good idea. It has held us back for years. Even Brick can admit to that.

Hey what ever happened to the possibility of Josh Smith? Still out there and that would make our big rotation potent. Cousins/Josh Smith/Trill/Moreland would be a sweet rotation. Quite a lot of guards out there that seem pretty interesting; adding Stuckey or Lin, or even Barbosa to the back court sound like solid upgrades.
