I Don’t love TT’s game - but I respect it.

If MBIII5 is around - I can see how TT will be a good mentor. TT does some things well (defensive rotations, playing physical on-ball D, and defensive board, communication) that the Kings were god awful at.

So the narrative from the Kings is TT is a salary cap chess move. His salary plus others will enable the Kings to trade for a better, more expensive player in Monte’s 3rd year. Okay, I guess.

Gave the trade an F. Think TT will provide some on the court value and he may enable Monte to get his unicorn in year 3, but Monte essentially traded away two seconds for TT’s salary. If he wanted to take on salary, could’ve done so by taking on Snell and getting a protected first (became two seconds). Where was this chess strategy last year?
