I cannot stand this Keith brooks guy. Sounds like an annoying shock jock. Cannot listen to this sorry Dave. Get Your boy from CDNET back.

I'm trying to give it a chance, but Dave's partner is unlistenable. Where's the ornery Kings fan I tuned in to hear? Put a bag over the shrill tasteless guy's head and take over the show yourself Dave.

Oh lord. I really tried. Keith Brooks is both unlistenable and completely incompatible with Dave. And the format of the show is really bad as well.

Brooks and the producer are on the clock.

If you want to help Dave, call and email KHTK. Don't ask for Sean Thomas. Just say you can't stand Brooks.

Yup. Unlistenable. Sad...he doesn't need a wacky co-host. Let alone the most annoying one on radio. I have hated Brooks for years...

Done. It almost seems like Dave is being sabotaged with this Brooks guy. They should dump Brooks tomorrow and give Dave a fair chance.

I turned on the radio and tried to go in with an open mind to judge for myself. But I have to agree that the show is awful. Unfunny, uninformative, and just noisy with no substance.

Not the right vehicle/co-host for CD in my opinion.

I think I'll take the same approach I think I'm going to have with D'Allesandro and the Kings roster - tune out for a year or two and then check back in to see if things have improved.

you guys are so impatient. its only been one day. give it a year or 2 before you ask to fire the guy. you should be grateful you have dave at all. sound familiar?

i thought i was going to miss the show but had to drop off my son, good thing it was only a 5 min drive. listened to a couple mins of it and had to turn the station back to 1320. lucky me, the couple mins i heard was dave telling kings fans to shut up about PDA and used the, we just got the kings to stay excuse.

I listened in spurts from 7-8 and not one mention of the kings was made, they just dont seem to fit and it sounded like a trainwreck.

Come on, we're the Sacramento Kings! Those lovable losers where fans don't care if the team ever makes the playoffs and are just happy to have an actual pro franchise!

Peaches and CD are right, never mind if you can see that the bridge is out and the train is still full speed ahead, at least we have a train!

The logic that the team was saved so we shouldn't be objecting to what clearly look to be terrible basketball moves is faulty. Yes, of course I'm grateful that the team stayed. Grateful to KJ, CD, Vivek and everyone else involved. But D'Allesandro was NOT responsible for saving the Kings. He is simply a GM that was hired after the team was saved and now appears to be making terrible move after terrible move.

indeed. i'm grateful that the team stayed, as well. but i was as tired of watching a derelict franchise as i was of wondering whether or not the kings were leaving sacramento. the promise made by the new regime wasn't just that the kings would remain in sac, but that they would be reformed into a winner. and i'm seeing no indication that the new regime actually knows how to build a winner. my guess is that vivek ranadive is going to have to take his lumps as a new owner. he's going to have to do many things wrong (hiring inexperienced personnel, valuing players like monta ellis) before he starts to understand what it takes to get it right. a lot of years may pass in the interim, and a lot of lottery picks may still be in the future. demarcus cousins may have forced his way out of town by the time the kings' higher-ups figure it out, and mike malone may have taken his defensive pedigree to another team by the time the kings start winning again. it really sucks, because i thought the new regime would be up to the challenge, but it looks like more-of-the-same to me, and more-of-the-same was never going to catapult the kings into the playoffs...

+1
this is what it seems half this board is failing to realize. new kings owners =/= Pete D'Alessandro.

Please, do not turn every freaking thread into THIS:

Then Brooks & CD should make a compelling BASKETBALL argument for these moves rather than telling fans not to criticize PDA simply because the team was saved.

And with Vasquez and Landry you could squint hard and see some logic even if you didn't agree with it. But Ellis?

Someone, anyone give me a legitimate reason why he will help the Kings. Or how he'll inprove the "culture" of the team.

I agree with RussoTuristo. Almost every single thread ends up sooner or later dissolving into the same circular argument. If you want to talk about PDA some more, why not use the appropriate thread? This one would be better served IMHO to stay on topic and discuss the KHTK morning show.

Please, do not turn every freaking thread into THIS:

Sure, lets just pick and choose when to use the argument. Only use it when it fits our argument and ignore it when it doesn't. ::Rolleyes:: Only reason it's brought up here is because Dave linked saving the kings with the personnel moves.

that would take considerable acrobatics. everything that tyreke evans was criticized for will likewise have to be apologized for with respect to monta ellis. problem is, there's a great deal more to criticize on top of that. ellis is more selfish than evans. he's shorter. he's not as strong. he's not as full of defensive potential. and, at 27 years old, he doesn't have anything in the way of a ceiling. he is exactly the player today that he will be for the remainder of his career, and one that poses a difficulty for a coach who wants to build a team concept, as monta ellis is always and only out for monta ellis...

Here? it is everywhere .. the same thing .. over and over again ... it is like a pollution. there is no way to escape it. it is like you copy and paste your 2 days old posts everywhere. you do not have to even write new ones. i understand that some people are concern, some are angry and disappointing. but oh my gosh, is there any space on this forum where you do not see that? i think EVERYBODY already get that you are thankful that this team is saved but you disagree with PDA and our new FO. it does not matter whether it is about Keith Brooks (who is actually horrible) or any other thread - the same. i know you do not see it but just please. show some mercy. it is a forum where people discuss things, argue, give their ideas but it is not that anymore. is there going to be at least one thread where people can read about something else kings and basketball related?

It was the first day of the show. Hopefully Keith Brooks will grow on me, although I'm definitely not going to be getting up early to listen to him... My first day reaction is that it would have been MUCH better with Sean Thomas, but I'll give him a bit of time.

agreed, they get off topic too much but the chemistry is perfect, they can finish each others sentances.

Keith Brooks has been every bit this obnoxious as a local DJ for many years now (he was on the Zone, FM102, etc). I don't see him changing...and MY tolerance for him hasn't grown in the slightest. :)

I was highly disappointed when I heard CD was coming back with him. The show is just as bad as I feared.

Well then, I'm definitely not going to be setting my alarm clock.

Jason Ross should stay loose. I hope it's sooner, but at some point in the next year, they are blowing out Brooks. Cunningham seems like a replacement, but I'm not sure KHTK wants to recreate the old Dave show in the broader AM market. It appears the station is trying to recreate the Rise Guys show and failing.

I think they will put Dave in the Whitey spot. Ross in the Kreidler spot. And somebody in the third seat. It could be Cunnigham, or somebody new, but I wouldn't write off Deuce.

This is pretty brutal. Brooks sounds like a kid and he stuttering and stammering and his sports takes are all things an average sports fan could get off watching 30 minutes a night of sports center.

I know Dave has kids to feed and this is his dream job, but I cannot imagine this is how he pictured his return. I can't listen to this. And trust me, I really wanted to like it.

Dave should hire Ron Artest to replace Brooks. That would be infinitely more entertaing then this gibberish. I cant believe hes actually lobbying for Ron too come back to the Kings. SMH

its pretty ugly, the 3 of them just have no chemistry, no real sports takes other than the attempts made by CD to engage these guys, the producer even said we would be fortunate to land a star like ellis, that he would instantly be the best player on the team, yeah i switched to 1320 after that.
