Keys to Kings' Upcoming Season

The most important factor for the upcoming season is avoiding injuries-- all of our key players must stay healthy. The past couple of years the two consistent things that have been said about the Kings are: "they are soft" and "they play too little defense". Although, their roster has improved, they have done little to become tougher (Wells will provide some additional toughness), but as the team is assembled right now, we must make a trade in order to solidify our rotation. During crunch time, particularly in the playoffs, teams limit their rotation to 8 or 9 players. For this reason the Kings need to pull a trade that would bring in one solid defensive minded front court player. This can be done via a sign-and-trade with Songaila, packaged with a player like C. Williamson. The problem may be finding another team who is equally as concerned about improving the Kings’ chances to win as we are. Any takers?

This shot reminded me of the height and the ultimate high of Kings' basketball. Let's hope there will be many more moments like this to come.

And maybe next time, Brad can set a pick on Kobe flat on his back while Bibby hits the jumper en route to the championship.

It's crazy seeing Chick Hearn in the background. You gotta love that shot too.

This is an extremely active board and we're blessed with a plethora of very knowledgeable basketball fans who take a lot of time on their posts. Some of the exchanges in our threads are truly classic. The amount of passion, interest, knowledge, and devotion to the Sacramento Kings is incomparable.

Nice use of the word plethora. It is a very underused word.

The best use of the word plethora, to date, is in Three Amigos whene El Guapo says, "Jefe would you say I have a plethora of pinatas?"

Thank you KingKong for backing me up. It's just an idea, a post, a suggestion, a desire of one Kings' fan to see championship basketball in Sacramento.
I have an idea, buy espn 2k6 and tell us how it goes. I know I will.

Bench is the key to kings's championship hopes this year . Our starting five in one of the best in league . But our strength will be tested through our second unit on the floor which has a solid frontcourt / but a young backcourt (garcia, martin, hart ).

I actually doubt that -- the starters are going to play SO many minutes,a nd dominate action so thoroughly, that the bench is unlikely to make a huge impact one way or the other. And benches rarely make a huge difference come playoff time anyway. Of you've got two good guys, its often enough. They're more useful for helping mitigate the wear and tear of the long regular season.
