Kevin Pritchard

Kingster

Hall of Famer
If Petrie is anywhere close to retirement, the Maloofs should bring this guy in now to take over when Petrie leaves. I think he's a very fine evaluator of talent. Some team is going to get lucky because of the idiocy of Paul Allen.

Yeah, outside drafting Oden, he's been amazing. I can't imagine many GM's would have actually taken Durant first.

he is a good talent evaluator however i wonder how good he is if he didn't have a owner w/ deep pockets. he had a clear advantage as he was able to spend to get extra picks and basically do whatever it took to acquire players.

It might be a situation that the two top GM's switch jobs.

Petrie took a huge pay cut recently from around $7 mil a year to his new downsized deal of around $2-3 mil - due to Maloofs money woes. Blazers owner Paul Allen with his much deeper pockets might intice GP with not only more $ but a return to his home stomping grounds in Portland - postponing any retirement for at least a few more years. Meanwhile, Pritchard is and always has been hot commodity. I wonder if there was a GM opening in Sac if he'd want to come here or another NBA team would swoop him before long or MSE could meet his big salary expectations.

I kind of doubt it. Petrie has become an icon for the Kings, and by all accounts, has a good relationship with the Maloofs. Pritchard is going to be in high demand, I would imagine, so I see another team scooping him up soon.
