Any questions?

Yeah, I know someone already started a thread for Mike, but a game like Kevin had tonight cannot and should not go unrecognized. He made Cat work hard all night for every single shot, and Cat missed more than he made in large part due to Kevin's persistence. In addition, he had a career night in scoring, he grabbed some key boards and just generally did a GREAT job.

Martin stepped up tonight and played a game that showed he IS the kind of King we want and need on our team.

So, I say congratulations to him on a job well done.

I am hoping that this will be the break he needs. He really strikes me as having incredible potential and I think tonight showed it. I am very happy for him!

I do have one actually.

Which Kevin will show up next game? THAT is the key to so much for him at this point. The door of opportunity has swing wide open for him with the injuries, but he simply has to get consistent so that the coaches can have confidence in him night in and night out. Just be solid next time out. That would be enough. Solid most nights, great occasionally = PT. Great once, suck twice, great once, suck thrice renders this performance moot.

Time to consolidate your position kid. Really be focused this next game.

Let's just call him "Sybil". No telling which personality will take the fore when game time starts. I really do like the one he showed tonight.

Actually, he has been pretty consistent these last 4 games (he wasn't playing before that, it's pretty hard to build a good rythm from the bench:p ) Double digit scoring in each game. Career high 19, followed by 'good' 10 and 11 point performances, then a new career high of 20. He's shooting 49% from the field and 38% from 3 point range, not too shabby. He's looking more and more comfortable every game that he isn't looking over his shoulder waiting for the hook

Well actually one of the reasons I mentioned that is because I thought he played pretty poorly last time out. And then this.

We'll see I guess. Should have another half dozen games at least of starts, so this stretch could end telling us a lot.

Yes, comparitively he did. But you see, he has already raised your expectations, because it really wasn't a 'bad' outing. He only played 26 minutes in that game and I thought when he was taken out contributed a bit to him not getting going.

Kevin's stats this season for games when he plays more than 20 minutes:

14.3 pts/ 5.0 reb/ 2.4 asts + 52.3% FG, 33.3% 3FG%

I'll take it.

It's those rhythm minutes he was talking about... :D

Give credit where it is due. He had a decent outing. I agree with Brick, though - "Which Kevin will show up next game? THAT is the key to so much for him at this point." Kevin's performances this year have been a mirror of the Kings as a whole. Entirely inconsistent.

Still, nice job last night.

A little misleading, considering he is only allowed to play 20 minutes or more when he is playing well.

Not really. He's started the last 3 (actually, in effect 4, since Bonzi went out early against Charlotte, see Kingsgurl's post on his consistency in those recent games).

It just means that he is getting minutes (in these "rhythm minutes" games) with more than the scrubbies on the floor, and his level of play is better in those circumstances.
