We need a concerted effort by everyone to write-in Kevin Martin on the All-Star ballot. Here is how. Go to the all-star ballot link, fill in your ballot and at the bottom, select Kevin from the drop down list of write-in candidates. Here is the link:

Voting can be done online above AND using your cell phone. As stated on the NBA site:

Go Mobile with your NBA All Star Vote!
Simply point your (cell phone) browser to the NBA Mobile Site at wap.nba.com and select "All-Star Ballot" from the main menu. If you are a T-mobile subscriber, check out the ballot in t-zones under "Hot Picks" and you are a click away from your selections.

My wife and I are writing in Kevin every day now. I use a reminder in iCal then each day when it reminds me I snooze it for 24 hours to do it again next day.

Okay, well nice dedication, but again, Kevin is NOT going to receive more votes than Nash or Kobe, so its all pretty much irrelevant. And the All-Star reserves are chosen by the coaches, not according to vote totals. Be nice for Kevin to get some votes of course, and next year he will I am sure. But any sort of concerted effort to stuff the ballot box is just kind of wasted this time through.

Absolutely knew that going in. Idea is to get enough votes for him to show in the top 5 or 10 for guards, thats all. Plus this is reminder to vote for Artest as well who should have decent shot. We know he will make the all-defense team.

Voiting in Kevin Martin to the All Star game would be a travesty if he got in. No offense but in the Western conference with all the guards here, no way Kevin deserves to be in there over Nash, Kobe, Paul, McGrady, Davis, Ray Allen.

Why not? FG % is higher, he's on a winning team, he's an ace FT shooter, and he finds other ways to contribute with good reb/stl/ast numbers.

The difference is that the other guys make their teams go. Kevin is in more of a Peja role while its Ron who is the tonesetter and leader. Mentioned before its very hard to make it into an Allstar game unless you are either clearly the franchise guy or on an elite team that gets in two or more.

If Ray's team gets bad enoguh, he could maybe fall out. TMac might not be the clear #1 there anymore. Then again if they keep on winning he gets in as the #2 on a top team. But Nash, Kobe, Paul and as of right now Davis compeltely carry their teams. As an aside, if Davis sustains, Nssh, Paul and Davis together mean Mike gets aced out again.

Bingo

Im getting kinda confused on how you think that Kevin doesnt make his team go...How do you make a team go? Its just that its a new face in the NBA and I dont think that people were ready for it...All Kevin ever needed was some PT the last 2 yrs...I mean the kid was only the 2nd leading scorer in the nation in D1 coming out of college his junior year...So he is use to all this...Give him an average of 18-20 shots a game and he is up in the top 5 in scoring in the whole league...I just feel that Kevin does make the team go...And right now he is one of the top 2 of the guards in the West...Just a new face is whats hurting him...

Because Kevin Martin is not the focal point of this offense. We don't give him the ball and let him work. Right now, he's somewhat of a "Super Role Player" because his efficient scoring relieves pressure off of our other guys.

Kevin isn't the franchise player on the Kings...yet. Will he be some day? Quite possibly.

Don't put the cart in front of the horse. Let Kevin prove himself and prove his worth to both the Kings and the NBA one step at a time.

Maybe not Allstars this year.

He may not be the franchise player yet, but soon he will be the first offensive option. Not only is he 15th in the League for Points Per Game average currently, but noone on the list above him has a higher (or equal) Field Goal %, 3 Point % or Free Throw %! That seems pretty impressive to me.

Write-in K-Mart

I don't agree with comparing Kevin to Peja. Kevin is a very different athlete, he's far more explosive, can create his own shot much better than Peja, grabs more rebounds, is a better defender, and is a better ball handler. So except for the fact that Kevin can shoot 3s, I don't see any comparison.

Kevin is like having a young Doug Christie who can shoot.

And I started writing in Kevin's name the first day and every day since. He won't make it on write-ins, of course, but it makes a statement.
