kevin martin news?

The day-to-day listing is from before today's game... They won't be updating his status until tomorrow at the earliest. He's been playing on a tweaked ankle for a while. All we can hope for is that it didn't get any worse.

I think it's a good sign that he walked off totally on his own. I'm pretty sure they weren't going to let him return at that point regardless of what he might have wanted. Better to be safe than sorry, you know?

He already HAD a sprained ankle and was ALREADY listed as Day to Day. It's been sprained for a while, though they have not made much news of it. Hopefully, that fall did not really tweak it that much further. Obviously, he will play on it if he can.

If Martin doesn't get hurt, I'm thinking hes going for 40 easily against Golden State last night. Martin is such a baller.

Looking at Kings schedule it appears Kevin misses at least the next 3 games, probably 4 and maybe as many as 5-6. Hopefully, Kev and Cisco gets back sooner rather than later. Salmons probably starts at 2 now which opens up the 3 for JT. Douby has disappeared at the wrong time and haven't heard exactly what's up with him. Minutes for BJax, Bobby B and Donte over the next week or so just went way up it would appear.

He doesn't like getting his ankles taped, which is part of why when he played on it yesterday, it got hurt again. He'll be alright, but his discomfort with taping his ankle might have to be something he gets over.

grant just said hes out 7-10 days.

aha! Guessed right in my weekly fantasy league. ;)

And actually, with Cisco still out as well, that leaves us with the perfect crew of midget tweener guards (Brown, Douby, Bobby) to try to guard the ultimate midget tweener guard in A.I.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP)—Sacramento Kings guard Kevin Martin will miss at least a week after spraining his left ankle in a victory over Golden State on Sunday night.
Martin is the NBA’s 11th-leading scorer at 22.4 points per game. He had 27 points against the Warriors when he injured his ankle when he fouled on a drive.
The Kings said Monday that Martin will be sidelined 7-10 days. The fifth-year pro averages 3.0 assists and 2.9 rebounds.

Is that excerpt factually accurate or was he fouled on the play? (I couldn't see the game)

Kevin was fouled going for the shot...He spun around funky and landed his full weight on his injured foot. The MRI was negative though, so as long as he can control the swelling, he should bounce back pretty soon...It just hurts a lot:(.

Last night Grant and Jerry said they did not expect to see Kevin play on this road trip.

They said maybe both Kevin and Cisco on Friday, although for Cisco it could well be longer. Apparetly that calf muscle just isn't responding as well as they hoped. :(
